I couldn’t have found your lovely video at perfect timing. I have a dress that desperately is in need of tailoring. It literally just two rectangular shaped piece of fabric joined together and wholes for arms and head were left. It’s my sister’s (I may have asked whether she got the dress to use as potato sack). You are totally right about back lacing but in my opinion the side lacing seems to produce a more flattering fit of the garment.
