I've been aiming to build one on those. I've been busy doing other things, and my grand kids keep be busy doing their things as well. LOL. When I get all my cabinets built I'll make one. I already have everything to do it with. There was an old gentleman that I go to church with that gave me a lot of his tools. He had an old craftsman lathe, and he called me one day and ask me if I had a lathe, I said no not yet, and said, "well you have one now," and the next thing I knew he pulled up in the driveway. He's gone now but I think about him everytime I use one of his amazing tools he gave before he died.

+Mark Burgess That's awesome, my buddy just gave me a lathe also. I've been playing around with it. the lathe is one of those tools that will take over the shop if you allow it

That was great. Nice job Moy. Btw, I thought fireplaces were outlawed in California. :)
@moyperezwoodshop17228 жыл бұрын
+Hardnox thanks peter, I appreciate it. California banned fireplaces when building new homes or adding a fireplace to an existing home. If the home was built with a fireplace prior to the banning, it stays. My house was built in 1950's so luckily I can keep using it.

very nice! question for you though, did you make threads on the wood? if so, how did you do that? if not, was it just glued?
@moyperezwoodshop17228 жыл бұрын
+Roy Jumonville thanks Roy, well that was my plan to cut threads with a tap and die set, but I took too much material off so I really didn't need to. Using a pair of pliers I threaded the collar, this process cut shallow threads. I removed the collar and then used epoxy. Hope this helps
