Elaine, this is the absolute best tutorial I have seen for a Pansy cane!!! The details you add truly makes the cane appear so realistic it’s amazing. This is what differentiates you from other PolymerClay artists and places you in the top 5%. I love watching your tutorials and you inspire me to keep caning especially when my physical limitations stop me from doing the things I love. I truly appreciate your effort, time and thoughtfulness in sharing your talent with us at no cost. Thank you for your consideration and kindness. Keep safe and well ❤️🤗

"Someone out there makes perfect, neat blends, but it isn't me." I resemble that comment 100%. No-one has time for perfection. 🤣 Just gorgeous. I love this pansy but you make it look so easy! Goals. 🙌😍

I have been doing this a LONG time plus I get to slightly cut out the worst screw ups (although I try to keep the normal mistakes in)

I love your messy chaotic work style. It works for me. I can understand and somehow, appreciate it more that it's sped up but realistic. Thank you for such a wonderful video. I am not a clean edge blender either.

I hate to hide how the process really looks. You will not get clean, straight edges, perfect cuts and no wonkiness in a single, given cane.

The extra trans you put in changed so much. Looks so nice when you reduce it! Keeps that beautiful shape. The colors are nice too. Some of the pansy canes I know God didn’t create pansies those colors.
@Tooaquarius2 жыл бұрын
I used to use a lot less because I'm pretty experienced at reducing canes but customers and friends had trouble working with my canes as a result so ... adding a little more to keep it stable helps for some designs. I still end up squishing petal edges but less

Oh so pretty!! If I don't have those colors can I use my oils to dye my clay or powders? Sorry, I'm new & can't remember the proper names. Thank you❤

I hope you see this, I was hoping you might please answer two questions if you have the time? - What is this style of clay molding called? I've seen others use this style of manipulating clay to make miniature china dishes as well as candy makers. - Can this be done with cold porcelain clay as well, or will it blend too much? I notice polymer clay seems to keep a sort of boundary between the layers.
@Tooaquarius Жыл бұрын
Sure! - This is cane making or polymer clay millefiori / millefiore. A lot of people use it for making miniatures, adding details to sculpture, making beads, jewellery, scenes. I mostly make the actual canes / designs and beads. - This can be done with any clay you can colour - I've done it with ceramic clay and homemade clays but this type does, for sure, keep the details best. If you think about a simple pattern where you roll two layers together and make a spiral of it... cookies, cakes, candies are done like this. You can do the same in most clays I imagine.
