I made it in oriental fabric and made a queen size quilt. I just love the end result and enjoyed filling time with something productive. By the way your daughter has your same beautiful smile

Love this because I’ve been working on a quilt using this method. So much fun and fast. I’m doing a larger size, put five smaller hexis on the plain top and match the back with the small hexis on the front. Small hexis are fuzzy cut. They are different themes. Flowers, sewing things, dogs, etc. I spend a lot of time in medical waiting rooms and hospital rooms with my son and these templates will make my next project super easy. Thanks again Jenny.

I live in Australia and have the pleasure of owning Nicola's quilt as you go hexagon. I love it. So far I have only made a beautiful table centre for my round table. I am an instant person so I did it by machine. It looks lovely and when people come into my kitchen they always say wow, your table looks very nice. I have an old jug with pothos growing in it, sitting in the middle hexie. I have lots of other plans for my hexie too. Some small eg., a needle keeper book and ideas for a quilt, a tote etc. Our imagine can be limitless and everyone thinks of something different to do with them. It's such fun. I loved what Jenny and the girls did with theirs.

This is very sentimental to me because it was with this technique/pattern that I learned to sew. Our neighbor lady always had one of these in the works. She did it all by hand and she taught me. I now have one in the works all the time. It is a great way to use up scraps and a wonderful portable project.

Love this idea for using hexigons. I have used the same technique for sewing square blocks together that were made out of a denim circle from old jeans with a 5" print square on the front and the arched part of the circle folded back over the denim on each side. This gives a cathedral window effect and makes a great picnic quilt. I've made 8 so far and the recipients were thrilled with them. I left the edges of the folded over denim raw so get a fun rag effect when washed. Thanks ladies for this great tutorial. I've added this to my to do list.

Hi Ladies, this tutorial is so much fun! My daughter in law lives in Kansas City and she happily educated all the rest of us about your stores and tutorials, which I'm grateful for. In watching this one, I couldn't tell if Missy was using an open toe foot for her sewing or not. I love open toe feet ( old eyes, LOL) but I wondered if those little seams might try to tuck themselves off in some funny way with them. Thanks again for your videos, supplies that we can order and all of the fun! I wholeheartedly agree with sewing these up by machine!

Ladies, I *LOVE* you! Seriously! I could give you a big ol' kiss right now! I have a round table and have been wanting a bee-themed table topper but have been uninspired to actually make anything (Thanks, depression!). But now my brain is going a mile a minute! Yellow fabrics for the centers, ivory for the edges, applique some bees on top and I've got me a honeycomb for my table! Smaller versions for placemats, individual hexies for coasters, make some without batting for napkins... Thank you for the little spark I needed to get my mojo back for this project that I've been sitting on for YEARS! 🤗😘💕

Hello from Queensland Australia, I was inspired to make a tree skirt following Natalie's example. I made mine by hand, using scraps of fabrics leftover from my granddaughters Christmas dresses and skirts my mother made for my daughter in 1980s. I used left over batting strips to cut the filling.. I was a bit surprised at how many hexagons I used but it was fun to make them while we were travelling at Christmas. I may add another circle next year to make it a bit larger. We've enjoyed identifying whose garments' fabrics were included. It has now had it's first Christmas. Thanks for getting me started on this one.

I'm having such fun with this template. Just wanted to post a combination idea, which is to sew the hexagons by machine, but hand stitch them together afterward. That way you get the quilted look on front and back, but with hidden connecting stitches. I'm doing prints with the small hexagons, and solids for the back in seven hexagon flower groupings, for a reversible quilt. There are so many possibilities with this template. Thank you, Daisy and Grace and MSQC!
