It never ceases to amazing me the things Jenny shows us, and the enthusiasm she has with every single video she makes!!! I know that Jenny isn't going to make these videos forever, but she is the VOICE of MSQC....I really love her and the way she is. Don't get me wrong, I think Misty (Jake's wife) does a great job with the videos and she would probably make a good replacement for Jenny when Jenny retires.....which won't be any time soon I hope. Jenny, thank you so much for helping me to be confident while making quilts. When I first started watching you in 2011.....I had never quilted a single thing. I've sewn garments since my daughter was 3 months old(I made all of her clothing from Kindergarten thru the 12th grade) but never had the interest to quilt, until quite by accident I stumbled onto KZbin and a tutorial from MSQC!!! Thanks to everyone one who makes MSQC what it has become in 2019. God Bless all of you!

I'm with you! I sewed for all my family since 1967 but never had an interest in quilting, UNTIL... Jenny!! Last year (April 2018) I was inspired by her "Paws and Pins" quilt and started my first quilt. I am hooked! Thank you, Jenny for your delightful spirit and inspiration! God bless you. I hope to meet you someday.

If you use a 3 1/4” small square, rather than 3”, you won’t cut off your points. Cute quilt!

Oh, if anyone finds quilting safety pins too expensive, use small plyers to give the sharp side of plain s.pins a little bend toward the "latch" part. Amazing! 💝
@Vio-ot4ft4 ай бұрын
Good tip. I bought some curved basting safety pins some time ago, but I tossed them as I found they made HUGE holes in the fabric.

If you did the snowball on the background corners with your fabric, it would be an interesting shofly variation.
@godsspecialchild865 жыл бұрын
Lovely quilt! When you snowballed the first block (as the 1st example), you held it up, with snowballed edges facing diagonal & it would look great "on point" too. ❤ 😉
@suecone21985 жыл бұрын
This is so interesting because of the different design you can achieve using different layouts! You always make things that look complicated easy! Yeah ! Thanks 😍
@joannmccraw72355 жыл бұрын
Beautiful quilt! I like the way you show it is solids and the hint to make sure you sash between the blocks to keep the "star" visible. Now, take a look at the quilt from a side-way view, (as if it were on point) oval cubby holes being held in place by reflecting diamonds ... a completely different looking quilt.
@chartaber51985 жыл бұрын
After figuring out my conundrum with snowball piece I found that if that square was 3 1/4 inches it did leave a seam allowance and a nice point. It all depends on the size of that first cut. I love the concept. You all come up with such clever ideas.

Love this quilt! Just wish yardage amounts were given for those of us who live in tiny towns & don't have access to quilt shop precuts.
@sbro94775 жыл бұрын
Cathy Rowe you could work it out normally 42 square in a charm pack and they are 5” square. 36” to the yard by between 36” to 60” wide

I also liked the star arrangement. I want to try it in miniature. (Some what) But sewing the snow ball block from corner to corner seemed to me that it would cutoff points when sewn to another block. I have noticed that you aren’t as attached to points as I am. 😉

This is bad... very bad... I was just going to do a pillow each for the G-daughters to lean on when they were reading, then I watched this tutorial and NOW I am planning a new quilt for our bed, another one to use up that pink and grey fabric I have been saving for 20 years and THEN I looked at some of Jenny's other tutorials in the side column and thought; "Oh, that looks good!" so now I want to make other quilts - lots of quilts using those amazingly simple but wonderful design tutorials - quilts I don't need! I wish Jenny was terrible at tutorials, then I wouldn't have watched the whole thing. Twice. It's very, very bad...

My only concern about the measurements with this block is that it will mean the points are lost when the blocks are sewn together. Is there a way to leave the 1/4in space from the edge of the snowballed point to the edge of the fabric?
