Oh Jenny you did it again!!! Thank you so much. About a year ago I made a queen size quilt with just plain blocks with sashing. It was never sandwiched because I felt there was some thing missing. You just helped me decide what will go in the center of these blocks. I love to hand sew, so I will hand applique mine. Thanks again Jenny. I always look forward to your videos!!!

Jenny, that is so darned adorable. I just finished a quilt top of the falling charms pattern, and it is just amazing. Now, you show me this one and I am more ready for spring than ever. I had never touched a cutting mat or a rotary cutter until Dec 2013 when my husband bought me one for Christmas. He had no idea what quilting animal he had created, LOL. I have been a seamstress of dresses since my teen years. With your videos and my husband's mistake, I haven't put down my rotary cutter since then. I am on my 14th quilt thanks to your amazing talent, patience and realism. I love how you just make us all feel like we don't have to be perfect to create perfection. I have watched many other videos but always choose yours to help guide me in my projects. This one will be on my list next!! Thank you again.

I bought your pattern & fabric and made this quilt top. Unfortunately I live in Canada so sending the quilt to you for quilting is not feasible. My question is: how do you decide what color thread to use when quilting an appliqued quilt top? Yours seems to blend so well you can't tell what color the thread is. I'm fairly new to quilting. Thanks Jenny , what a lovely block. I have a question: could you use a couple of charm packs for the blades? That way I could use up my stash, lol. Hi there Jenny, I love this quilt so much that I decided to do it right away with left over strips from a giant Dresden quilt I made. My question to you is about the blanket stitch. I can't tell from the video but is the straight stitch part of the blanket stitch on the Dresden or on the back ground fabric. I just cant tell. Thank you.

When you sew on hand appliqué do you use an embroidery hoop to keep your dresdens in place. I made a turkey and the last blade and won't line up, ended up totally wonky and I have to rip out all my hand stitches from around the entire fan 😢.

I am currently making the spring dresden quilt. In the Missouri Star Quilt Block book it says to line the bottom of the pot with the bottom of the background square, but in the video, Jenny says to leave space between the bottom of the pot and the bottom of the background square so it doesn't get caught in the seam. Which way is correct?

Jenny: I was wondering, it seems that you never backstitch. I was taught (ok so I only had freshman home ec) to always backstitch to lock your seam. Are you backstitching so quick I miss it or do you not have to backstitch?

Backstitching is great! We don't normally do it because the seam will be enclosed in another stitch. Especially if the quilt top is going to be finished with machine quilting! :) It's a great habit to back stitch, we just normally don't.

Loved this quilt and your tutorial. However, when I made the blocks, the Dresden flowers show through the pot where it overlaps them. I don't see that on your block in the tutorial or on your quilt. Any suggestions?

That is a great question, Geri Cap! We will have to play around with it to see what's going on. Maybe ironing it well would help?

Missouri Star Quilt Company I added a 1"x 5" rectangle at the top of my pots to help cover the bottoms of the flowers. Beautiful!

I didn't see you backstitch or anything when doing the blanket stitch. Would you please give me some advice on how to do something like that without worrying that the stitching will come loose? Thanks!

We didn't backstitch because we are going to finish this quilt off with machine quilting which will keep everything in tact. I hope this makes since! :)

This is the perfect quilt to use my leftover 1930's prints. However, if I knew now what I didn't know when I started this...it's not so easy using the pre-cut charm pack. The pinked edges need to be cut off (notice they are missing from the video above) and you want straight edges when stitching around...once cut off, the tumbler doesn't quite fit the square. :-(
