Jenny demonstrates how to put together a gorgeous quilt pattern designed by Allie Perry for Taren Studios. This quick and easy quilt is made with yardage and 2.5 inch strips of precut fabric. For this project, Jenny chose Ombre Fairy Dust Metallic Jelly Roll by V & Co. for Moda Fabrics. This quilt comes together lickety split with easy strip sets, and it's the perfect pattern to compliment this year's Missouri Star holiday theme: #GiveLove.

-About Taren Studios-
Allie Perry, founder and designer of Taren Studios, loves to create modern and unique quilt patterns. While she was getting a degree in Interior Design, Allie interned for a firm in New York City and went on to work in material and product design for an international company creating a color system and products that were used in architectural and interior design applications throughout the world. With her background and a goal to make quilting modern and fresh, Allie is often inspired by interiors and architecture for new quilt patterns. The combination of her love for color, pattern and all things design with her love of quilting that was instilled by her mother, has created something she loves to do as she cares for her three beautiful, young children at home. Her super talented graphic-designer husband, seen popping in hilariously on social media occasionally, has started to join in on the pattern designing fun as well. We hope to keep quilting modern and inspiring for all types of quilters.

When I first saw this in the thumbnail, I didn't see the word LOVE in there. But I see it now! I kind of dig it with the ombre and the subtleness of it (i.e., you have to look for it a little, so it's like a little surprise). Love that you are supporting an indie pattern writer, too!

Personally I prefer the more traditional designs over the contemporary but this is a very interesting quilt. I do see it as something my young adult kids would like. And it's good that MSQC shows designs for all tastes. If I do this one I'll have another challenge as my small sewing room has no space for a design wall & I can see the benefits of one for projects like this.

Ruth,i dont have a dseign wall but this goes together so nicely you actually dont need the wall. The key is to label each section and the pattern will show you how to group the sections to sew before adding another group. I am making this as a xmas gift and it took me 2 days off and on . Good luck !

Love this pattern! , when writing on a pattern, or labels for the sections and pinning to the fabric parts, use your gel pens, if the ink then gets on the fabrics you can just press them off, also you can press off your notes to use your pattern again with other fabric choices.

First thing I thought. Yes. Easy to half size for a wall hanging. Buy the pattern for colour layout and units guide. I’m going to use 1.5” strips which give 1” wide rather than 2” as in the pattern. I will probably use Kona black and white and then a batik charm pack in jewel colours I have. The legs of the L are 9.5” wide before sewing up so half size would be 4.25” and a charm pack or scraps work well x 1.5” wide. This will give me a quilt of roughly 32” x 36” and I can quilt this on my machine. Great design. I love it.
