Much older than you though just bought a small Eriba Caravan for which I intended to make a dolly, looking on the web for ideas I eventually came across your idea today and it is a miracle of inventiveness immediately catching my imagination. I already had some used wheels coming in the post for which I might need to make bigger diameter axles and already have a ball making me there in an hour or so rather than days using my old sack lifter which was always in the way and going to be thrown out. Thanks and good luck to you.

I’m looking to do something similar, but I want to make it removable so I can still use the dolly as a hand truck, or as a trailer mover. Thanks for the idea. I think I can take what you did, and find a way to temporarily attach it.

Good luck. Thanks for the comment! Try and not break to many drill bits. Maybe weld some tabs on instead to attach it if you know how to weld.

That’s what I want to do. I’m planning on trying to use ratchet straps to hold it in place So it’s easily removable

That’s a really good idea. Also you probably don’t need different balls since you’re only rolling it short distances on your property. You could move the 2” ball trailer with the 1 7/8 ball.

What's the names of all of the drill bits you used ? And where can I get a 3.5 or a 3.6 open trailer ?

I don't remember. Sorry. thanks for the comment.

I would say 45°, any degree more or less would be kind of awkward to pull or push.
