Was a bit dubious about this when it first started, but like others have said, really great project and nice production work! The pace of delivery is slower than many of these type of videos, but VERY useful and much easier to follow what's going on. And all very clear. Many thanks for the time and effort you have clearly expended on this.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it and noticed what style I was going for - slower and with everything in it you need to successfully reproduce it. 🙂

Thats so nice, I wish there was a alternative base plate at the bottem without to use stands. I would like to have the buttoen and power jack at one side to use this as a desktop lamp. That would be so cool for my son. And sadley there are no infos about the print settings for the diffusor.

this is really unbelievably good. In many years on consuming KZbin tutorials, I feel confident that I can achieve this, even though I have no clue in electronics. Currently building the KZbin sub counter from DIY Machines

Whilst I didn't attempt this project I did grab a spare wemos d1 mini and installed WLED. I had no idea you could install directly to the wemos from chrome/edge. I had some 5v WS2812 LEDs and put them around the back of my desk so they shine off the wall. I already had a 5v power held in place under my desk so power wasn't an issue for the LEDS and wemos.

Yes, flashing from within Chrome is so much more convenient and quicker! I'm glad you put your D1 and WS2812b to good use. 🙂

Yes you can! It's all configurable in WLED.

This is a great use of all of those empty spools! great stuff! I'm curious though, why did you choose the extra effort of using 12v LED's over 5v? typically with WLED and ESP32 I've just used a single 5v supply and a logic level shifter to boost the data line. Is there some advantage to 12v?
@DIYMachines Жыл бұрын
Good question! I went with 12v so that it would help reduce the effects of voltage drop along longer lengths of LED's used in taller lamps. I've made one six spools high without an issue (though this doesn't mean that it wouldn't be an issue for 5v either). Consider it a safer bet.

I'm using your PCB however the potentiometer is not controlling the brightness. If I use the webUI I'm able to use the slider and control the brightness with not problem. I've triple checked the wiring and even replaced the potentiometer but still not working. Thoughts?
