If you’re an anxious person like I am or have kids I wouldn’t recommend, I cried for days after because not only did I not finish my stuff for my wedding I also didn’t finish the take home stuff people were supposed to leave with. It was a home wedding so I felt it was done too last minute (I was planning it for over 6 months and because of finances everything was super up in the air)😭😭 7 months later I’m barely mailing people their stuff. I seriously debated quitting crocheting because I felt like a big fraud and couldn’t believe none of it was done yet. 😭😭 please don’t do that to yourself unless you know you have help like the original poster. 😅

@@ProGamer-gq1ox it's the /garter/ toss, not the bouquet toss. The groom takes the bride's garters off and tosses it to the crowd. It's creepy because both the practice and the origins involve voyeuristic connotations and many people have children attending their wedding reception.

@@ProGamer-gq1oxthe garter is like an elastic that goes up the thigh of the bride. The bride sits in a chair in front of the best men and other men. Then groom usually reaches up the dress and makes a show of pulling it out of her leg then they toss it for the men to catch it. So yeah it could be very uncomfortable tradition for the bride. 😅 also I’ve never seen one in person, I think it just dying out. People just toss the flowers now days for everyone to catch or the men don’t catch anything at all

@@AstroLamaa I think it's mostly in US/Canada But a garter belt (not an actually useful one, just an elastic strap, it started out using a real one back when they used them in daily life) pretty much just gets sexily pulled down the bride's leg by the groom using nothing but his teeth and then it's flung at the single men like the bouquet is at the single women It's weird and so out of place and it's uncomfortable every time I see one. Luckily, they've been getting less and less popular

Last minute is so stressful and I've been there. Was finishing a baby blanket for a friend and crocheted from Placer County to San Diego, CA. It was about a 12 hr. drive. Crocheted the whole time my hubby drove and actually gave myself blisters. Last time doing that. We were in a semi & couldn't drive into the part of town where the "friend" lived 10-15 min away. We didn't know till we got down there. She hadn't had the baby yet. We asked her if she could meet us due to restrictions and she said "Nope sorry I am having s friend come by in an hr and a half ". Was very hurt. She had alao asked us to bring a huge box 25lb. of Arbonne samples I purchased as She was selling it and I was not. We had to stay overnight so we were there the whole evening. She couldn't be bothered.😢
