So sad that so many old traditions are gone, among them the small coastal fishing fleets powered by the sturdy old make and break.

You'd likely be hard pressed to find a young feller that'd even know what the auld Make and Break engines are now a days . You're right though lad ,they were some sturdy made engine eh

@@shannondawn44 I'm 65 now, so hardly young. LOL. My grandfather was a stevedore in Halifax from the 1930s to 50s. Before that he worked the banana boats, freighters from Halifax to the Caribbeans. He owned a small boat for puttering around Halifax harbour. It had a make and break one lunger. My dad told me stories about some of the trips he took. Pretty amazing stuff. . .

in the older days poeple work hard we fish foor survivel for feeding or famelie and not for more and more to sel and de Big boats take it alll and the and the hard work is over the pus 1 buuten its done and ist gos on and on and on til evrey thing is gone and destriot, whe most go back to the old days of hard working. and respect the sea,s
