For those who don't do math (or just want a fast solution to find the paper size), I've made a simple calculator to calculate the paper size needed for the box - meaning the length of the sides of the squared paper. zhaky.dk/boxcalc/ I may update it with more features at a later time. You can use Excel for the formula. Open an excel sheet, put your length in A1, width in B1, and depth in C1. Then, place this into an empty cell (say D1): =SQRT(((A1+B1+(4*C1))^2)/2) Please use the same unit (either all inches, or all mm etc.) Hope this helps.

For the math, the correct formula is actually 2a^2=c^2, because a and b are equal.

You can avoid the Pythagorean theorem, multiplying the 29.5 found in formula by 1.414 and dividing by 2.
