You can now disable default assets with the latest beta version of Dungeon draft. Useful to know if you are using any of these packs that clash with the original art style.

I know 2 minute tabletop has at least one cyberpunk asset set, otherwise I've been using a few packs from cartographyassets. While they're great, I haven't been able to find too much else beyond those. I'd also appreciate if anyone else has more suggestions!

thx for the video. ive gotten the ddraft 3.0 from adventurers but when i check them in assets and reopen a new map, it takes AGES to loadup?!?! ive a ryzen 5 and ssd, but it took like 5 minutes to only load the very first asset pack (FA_Assets_A_v3.02). like, loading those you had selected in the video would probably take a day to loadup. what am i missing?
@mikesixel88644 жыл бұрын
IIRC, you can't turn them on/off easily....so that I can keep the ones that are licensed for commercial separate from the others, when I want to make a commercial map. If I could, I'd buy some asset packs for sure.
@EncounterLibrary4 жыл бұрын
I do wish that there were more features for easily activating/deactivating packs like sorting by creator or setting toggleable groups of asset packs but you can go through and check/uncheck the assets that you want pretty easily. When you're using a lot of packs that would definitely get a bit annoying though and there isn't any support for commercial/non-commercial assets as you mention so people will have to track their rights manually.

Another great video, thanks. You might want to make a video showing how to use EightBitz’s DDTools. They make making and using asset packs easy.
@EncounterLibrary4 жыл бұрын
100%. EightBitz's tools are fantastic and drastically reduce the steps necessary to make good packs!

Can you suggest an asset pack for Paizo’s Starfinder?
@EncounterLibrary4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I don't know of any sci-fi artists that are doing DungeonDraft packs. It's pretty hard to find proper sci-fi assets to begin with unfortunately :(. I know there are some creators on Roll20 who have assets that you could make into custom asset packs but it would require a bit of additional work on your end unfortunately.

Hi there, I am using dungeondraft and noticed it kinda drains all of my usable RAM when I load too many assets packs. Would you mind to suggest a way of dealing with it. I have loaded all FA assets pack and some other (3 Gogots packs and another) and it went over 15GB of RAM. If someone can help, please let me know. Thanks!

How do you feel about DungeonDraft vs. Inkarnate (for battlemaps)?
@EncounterLibrary4 жыл бұрын
DungeonDraft has better tooling but Inkarnate has a lot of great consistent assets. Now that there's significant custom asset packs for DungeonDraft I think it beats Inkarnate but I'm really looking forward to their eventual update to include better tools like an actual wall tool etc. Then it will be a much more balanced playing field. The new version of Dungeon Painter Studio will also be released eventually and based on their last demo may be a good contender as well!

Man and I'm sitting here with like 14 objects in my selfmade folder 😅 What camera and mic are you using? Keep up the great work :)
@EncounterLibrary4 жыл бұрын
I can only package stuff that other people make so you're doing better than me! For the camera I'm using a GH4 running to an Elgato 4K capture card but most of the image quality is thanks to ample lighting from my Aputure 120D. The mic is a Shure SM7B connected to a Motu M2. I used to work on short films/social media videos with my friends a lot so I had the benefit of already having some equipment (though my first videos aren't utilizing it). I love tech generally speaking and so the channel has been a good excuse for me to dive into it even further in the search for 'quality' :D. You can get a similar level of quality with much less cost though. A webcam like the Logitech C920 (or the new version if you can't find the old one) with enough light will look great especially if it's just in the corner of the video like mine. Something like the Elgato Key Lights or even just a bunch of work lamps bouncing off your wall will be really helpful. Then for audio something like the Rode PodMic or Shure SM58 would be good. Check out Podcastage on YT for other mic options :).

Was able to download a bunch of 2 Minute Tabletops asset packs and get them working. But all of the packs from sites like Forgotten Adventures just came as zip folders with lots of PNG's. And I have been unable to add them to Dungeondraft unlike the already packaged assets from 2 Minute Tabletop.
@EncounterLibrary4 жыл бұрын
So you'll want the specific DungeonDraft Asset Pack not just their normal map making packs. They have their demo here: www.forgotten-adventures.net/product/map-making/assets/dungeondraft-integration/ and I believe the full packs are currently limited to their Patreon but they have a big master post of them that gets updated as they come out as well. Hopefully that helps!

What is the difference between these asset packs and Mike Schley's from a previous video?
@EncounterLibrary3 жыл бұрын
These asset packs are pre-created so all you have to do is move them into your custom assets folder. With the Mike Schley pack that was going over how to create brand new asset packs from the image files. These should be much easier to use!

I prefer DungeonDraft for now but I'm keeping a close watch on Dungeon Painter Studio as its long 2.0 version is coming along nicely. Once it releases I look forward to putting it through its paces and seeing which one comes out on top :D.

There is nothing about making maps in dungeondraft in this video. It's just a showcase of assets for sale.

I have a DungeonDraft Basics series that is available to watch on the channel if you would like to learn how to use DungeonDraft. The goal of this video was to show that there are massive asset packs available for DungeonDraft that completely change the aesthetic because I've had a bunch of people mention that they're not fans of the default style. I'm also working on an updated version of the DungeonDraft Basics videos which will be fully up to date with all the new features. If you watch the Basics series and my "What's new in DungeonDraft" videos it should get you 95% of the way there though.
