I agree...fighting games are my favorite genre but its hard to enjoy now because it feels the the FGC itself is the biggest problem that effects fighting games...i was an mk9 god because my favorite part of fighting games wad gettin destroyed until i learned because i wasnt scared to lose...but now i dont enjoy playing as much any more because it feels peoples mindset changed in these short 12 years...everyone keeps running...nobody wants to run sets for 20 rounds str8 like in the old days anymore theres no chance to adapt everyone rafe quits as soon as they CLOSE to losing...it doesn't even matter that they still win theyre just mad because it was a challenge...this is what happenes when you cater to casuals and keep nerfing everything and it takes way longer to learn now cuz no one wants to fight its just one and done

From a casual stand point thats always been peoples mindset, they cant just hop in the game and be god tier and practicing and learning concepts and situational awareness takes people out of games. its funny because as someone whos played fighting games for over 20 years now I find myself having more fun in the lab than anything. discovering new tech new b/s i can get away with and all these things. just so I can be an online warrior. I think this instant gratification thing that people want is a weird way to show how they are with most things in life. I really cant seem to shake the feeling of calling these people scrubs but I understand that this genre just isnt for everyone. no teammates to talk down to when you cant pull your weight. no excuses its just you and the other person and when people cant seem to be good in a realm like that they just lose their shit. Just so funny to me.

One of the things I hate about fighting games is the z motion in the corner of the thumbstick. The games rarely read it and it hurts after practicing it for so long. That's why persona 4 Arena Ultimax is my favorite fighting game so far. And the my best friend is the reason why I like fighting games so much because we both evolve for our rivalry which is so much fun.

Most people prefer taking shortcuts or the easy way out. This isnt exclusive to fighting games, it also goes for living too. Its just how it is and has always been this way. Unless this is for content, (which Im all for it, great stuff) I'd reccomend you to not waste your time or energy arguing with people online and go on with your day. Its just not worth the trouble.

Pokén tournament was a good example of this. The game way way too easy to play and too much of a rock paper scissors style matches that it died almost immediately. That kind of gameplay sucks and I hope Capcom continues doing what they are doing.
