Wildcat getting review codes, they're moving up in the world. I'm personally super excited to play this, I don't have a PS5 yet, but once I do, this'll be in the top three priority games for me. (The other two being Final Fantasy 16 and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart if you want to know) Hope you don't get too sick man.

Dynasty Warriors SHOULD move more towards general action game gameplay and focus on the grand strategy to stand out from that genre. HOWEVER ParrySlop is not what action games are supposed to be. FromSoftware is the cancer that has been eating away at action games for a while now. I wish this trend chasing would stop but creative bankruptcy is all video games are these days. I'm not a fan of the series (i wish i could be) and haven't played this game so i won't comment on the rest, but i only needed to see one fight in your video to see what the combat design was all about and you commenting on it confirmed it so i wanted to chime in on that particular subject.

Just to clarify: When i mean "grand strategy" i mean within the missions themselves, not some world map stuff. The officers fights should provide the action game part, managing an actual battle should provide the strategy part. That includes having to actually fight the regular enemies and not just ignoring them to go fight the officers. To be fair i don't know how you can make that interesting though. I don't know how you can make fighting them engaging if they are not allowed to be actual enemies.

I don't know, £65 is a steep price for a formulaic entry. I'm not excited to invest that much money into a game I've played 5 times already on 5 different titles.

I'm torn on this gameplay focus on officer combat. on one hand it is cool that you can have such deep combat mechanics for this franchise. however what I want from musou games it to efficiency now down peons with with flashies of combo. this doesn't facilitate that at all, it more like Wo Long in that sense . also the peons instantly retreat and subsequently fade away means, there's little reason to thin them out. like, I could just go straight officer's head and ignore the peons.

agreed that's my biggest issue with the demo and unfortunately if that's where the game goes then I'll have to pass because I don't want to play Dark Souls simulator I want musuo I want to roll through the crowds and what a shame too cause the crowds in this game are top notch.

@@evanjamm I agree, we have so many souls like game right now that it is crazy, I get why people loved it but it is simply not my jam to work hard and extra focused so I can have that sense of pride and accomplishment. perhaps some kind of cheat trainers could fix the lacks of reason to mow down peons in the future.
