Leldon. Thank you, You really knocked it out of the park on your first video. I hope you plan to make others in the future. This is a great process and I can't wait to give it a try. You did an awesome job explaining the entire process and gave some great tips. Regards, Bob

Hello ! Great job, I hope I'll be able to do like you. I have a question : do you have a link where I can buy the blue tape you use ? Thank you

I'm curious about something. Since you tilt the scroll saw 3º, do you also tilt your drill press 3º when you drill the holes?
@LeldonMaxcy9 жыл бұрын
I didn't on these. If I were making them again I might try. A simple 3 degree angle and using a hand held drill would make it easy to get the correct angle for the hole. But I did not have an issue with the hole being 90 and the cut being a little off from 90!

Awesome snowflake :). You made those cuts super fast lol. Is the Excalibur your favorite saw to use?

Thanks! Years of practice and then editing out the slow parts on the computer! I do love my excalibur!

Woodyguy asked what blade type/size you were using, I’ve not seen a reply to that question, I have the same question. Also thanks for the tip about CW and CCW and how it affects which inlay fits into which piece of wood! I’m brand new to scrolling, being an engineer and a perfectionist I notice if I zoom in on a still picture of your final product I can still see the blade entry hole. Is there any way to completely eliminate it? I’ve read mixing the proper wood sawdust and glue, or the right color wood filler, but in general people are not happy with the results with those methods. Thanks for a very helpful video, please address my questions if you can find the time. John G, Hollis, NH

Hi! I used a olson 2/0 reverse tooth blade. I get them from www.seyco.com or www.sloanswoodshop.com. Yes the starter hole is there, you could mix some sanding dust and glue and it would help. The way I would do it now though is apply a small amount of glue to the hole and use my palm sander sanding so the glue is filled with dust. This method has worked great! Thanks for watching!

Great job Leldon! ...and I thought I had an accent lol. One question...how do you "speed up" the video like when it shows you cutting?
@LeldonMaxcy10 жыл бұрын
Hi Charles! Thank you! I guess living in Alabama does that to someone! :) I used iMovie to edit the video and they have a feature that allows you to speed it up like that. In sure most other video editing software does, but I am not sure where it is on other software
