I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.

Nice project👍well done. One concern I'd personally would have is the likelihood of water or oil getting in the concrete hole. I'd dig a bit deeper to add a sump pump and drain outlet ...below the location of the wench. Even on my covered carport and our covered shop, water gets on the floor occasionally from condensation from having a tin roof. Another thing is we sometimes intentionally wash them with soap and water to clean up.

MMh more like some design flaws in this build (water/other fluid removal from hole?, smaller bits can fall in there and are pain in the ass to get back, what happens when something breaks/jams down there? chancing the table top sheeting when its damaged enough is pain, cause no bolts or screws, how sturdy this thing really is in highest position? and that thing is really slooooooow... O.o), what people didnt like, but i do dig the idea. It just needs little tinkering to get it perfected.
@TrevorDennis100
@TrevorDennis100 5 жыл бұрын
@@Hellsong89 Totally agree. So much work went into it, and it would not have taken much more effort to make significant improvement. The cantilever pivots for instance. As they are, they will allow an annoying amount of movement in the bench top. Machined journals and bushings, with some sort of simple thrust race between the box sections, would have made a ton of difference making the bench top way more rigid and rattle free.

Good fabrication. Now you just need to wire it to a single pushbutton switch, instead of having to hold it down to raise it...then you'll be able to walk out, push the button, and have enough time to go back inside and cook yourself a nice bacon and eggs breakfast along with some fresh squeezed orange juice, and the table should be almost fully raised by the time you go back out to work. :-)
