This video just goes to show how HUGE of a difference there is between the raid settings. For my most recent playthrough I opted into the "less" option as though I like raids, before they have happened a bit too often for my liking. But 50 hours into my playthrough, I've been raided only three times or so. This is all a consequence of both raid interval and raid chance being tied to one variable, which scales linearly for both at the same time. I'm not really sure how the math works out, but I'm fairly certain that the most extreme option gives you at least 10x as many raids compared to the default option. There's also the factor that raids only trigger when you're close to base structures. This also contributes to the lower raid interval being much more effective than it seems at first glance.

Absolutely right on that! I know they say the average on the hardest setting is like 1 raid every 13.6 minutes or something I think. But I believe there is some kind of formula to increase the chances the longer you go without a raid too, meaning that the higher raid settings are just constant raids, as seen in my videos hahaha. On my servers I usually run the "less" setting as well and I rarely ever get raided, although that may also be because there are many other players on too usually.

Thanks a ton and I definitely get that! Things are ok at the moment but once I get to the Swamp things are going to be a lot more difficult. The Swamp is insane on this difficulty with all the 2 star archers.

Thanks! :D My main is DarkTyto on osrs. I also love the crazy ironman accounts lol especially settled's stuff. His 1HP fire cape vid was nuts haha. I actually started this channel with a snowflake ironman account where I am not allowed to ever repeat any grinds once I do them. I eventually burned out on that, but I may go back to it one day in the future. I'm getting that itch again lol

i was planning on playing like this anyway and i have learned some valuable things already! good video. defiantly going to have to dig a ditch and a dirt wall. i would probably build a bunker out of rock for later when you get the mountain raids because they attack from the air pretty much constantly. so i think for my play through gotta have a giant square wall with a ditch with a big rock in the middle hollowed out for a safe space. man this is stressful lmao

Thanks! Yeah I already decided to dig a ditch and raise up my base a bit in the next episode. Problem is that I am not using any storage so I have to slowly go out and get stone and come back lol. The troll raids are going to be the next big hurdle. A bunker for the drake raids may be the best choice. Good luck to you if you're playing on this difficulty. It's rough haha

I'm calling more raids than deaths. On the max level, a player should expect a raid every 20 minutes on average.
