I started enjoying the game a lot more when I stopped using most of these tricks. Fires to kill bosses, structures in dungeons to stop enemies and luring trolls to harvest ore early were fun when I first tried it but in the end playing the game as it presents itself has given me much more satisfaction.

100% agree. Cheesing this game is too easy, there's no challenge in that. Play the game on very hard without using ranged weapons unless mob can fly for the FULL experience. Enjoy getting rekt. For this is what we love this game for.

a tip from me : Use antler pick in swamp since it can be repaired with just a workbench you can put a single roof on top of it if you place it on the side of the crypt walls this way you can mine lots of iron before loading your ship with it and go back to your base😊

Or use a portal for repairs and non metal loot, or take the copper to the swamp to build a forge

You can also build a small/temporary base on top of the entrance itself, if you align the top of a wood ladder with the lowest surface along the back side of the entrance it's low enough to jump to but skeletons and draugr can't follow. You can fit all the small outpost essentials up there and have a place to store your loot short term, and sleep before running back to base to avoid ghosts and wraiths

Here's another video idea: (initially) "rare" resource management. As you said, getting the feather cape should be your highest priority in the Mistlands, but oh no, from my first two infested mines I only have 5 black cores, not the ten needed to refine eitr and build a galdr table! So: build the refinery, refine eitr, then tear down the refinery and build the table to build the cape. Another is molten cores. First, I feel like many people still don't understand that you can go through any stone portal endpoint with metal even if the other side is not a stone portal. With my first two cores, I found it invaluable to spend a day bring them to my 3-4 remote outposts with bits of metal I didn't feel like sailing back earlier. Rename the existing outpost portal, build the stone portal using the original portal id, transport your metal back to your base. Go back, tear down the stone portal, rename your original portal back.

And useful to remember that once you have 4 cores, you can take the iron to build a stonecutter through a portal, and replace the other end with a stone portal as well.Then replace it with a regular portal again once you're done transporting metal.

The most useful tip I found here is the usage of cart to destroy the dvergr ward. Dvergr don't really drop anything useful, so I don't want to kill any of them just to get the items I want from their camps.

You don't have to take 2 irons to the Ashlands. Once u got 2 molten cores u can transport it trough the portal, and set new portal at base, then take 2 irons to the ashlands creating stonecutter. Now u just need to replace ur portals and Voilà

about the sea serpent...i would just make the boat keep goin forward, shoot with the bow, and when its the last shot to kill. jump when its charged and shoot as you are about to enter its mouth to kill and instantly grab everything it drops. dragging the damn thing to land has never been my favourite way, it keeps breaking loose form the damn harpoon

Question! Armor: So, we know the Forsaken are talking (mocking) after you mount their heads on the wall, BUT could the chatty mood of a Forsaken depends on the armor you wear? As long as I wore the deer hide armor Eikthir couldn't keep his mouth shut, now I wear the root armor and the Elder calling me a twig!

What i found the best way to kill abomination is to have flesh rippers and just chop them down before they can crawl out, it takes really long for them to "deploy" so you just need to hack it. It usually dies before she crawls out whole.

@@richardreumerman5449 you just need to watch out for sus green glowing tree stumps. If youre revisiting swamps youve explored or grinded in heavily. Youll eventually start to kinda remember where the last one spawned. I think they have set spawn location for a singular swamp. And respawn every couple of hours.

The center columns of the Ashlands fortresses can actually just be dug under. So there is no reason to make the battering ram. However, there is a reason to make the catapult that I didn't see here. You can use the catapult to demolition flametal ore and then gather with basalt bombs.

you used to be able to dig under the center columns but now you have to dig SUPER deep. its not worth digging underneath anymore IMO

Spears can be reclaimed - ARROWS are only 1 use only -Very sad. Spears are so OP! - range, melee, faster xp. Good tip on Elder spawn - I had not realized that. Nice to learn something new. Good luck on your next Trophy run.

Not keen on the boss tips. More like exploits. If you nulify the Yagluth fight like that for example youre robbing yourself of one of the best boss fight experiences in the game! Nobody really makes videos on the proper ways to beat bosses. Yagluth is to hide behind pillars then run in with Frostner when he does AoE phase. Then repeat. Modor, run while in the air and rush her on the ground melee between her wings and head. Etc.

I ended up studying them myself and worked out legit ways to take them on and I think there's a ton more reward in that. You only cheat yourself out of that fun

I have always appreciated such cheesy tips, as it's what kept me playing my first solo game instead of giving up in disgust when I died too many times fighting the bosses. I died about 5 times the first time I solo'd Eikthyr 😂 Now i think it's a doddle.

It used to work in any biome regardless of if you had the fire hazard setting enabled. Now it only works in the ashlands without the setting. For this behaviour in other biomes you have to enable fire hazards

Really enjoyed the game prior to the swamp. After that it became an absolute chore to play. Quit before finishing the Ashlands there was 0 rewards for the stress in that garbage biome. 1/10 do not recommend this game
