You can apply this process to many other items as well as a technique for batch builds. This will work well for cutting boards, coasters, trivets, and basically anything else that is relatively flat. Happy building 😎

I have watched your video 3 times and have appreciated it more and more each time I have watched. I have made face grain cutting & bread boards before but I love your glue up and bandsaw cutting for the side grain boards. What is length hat dimensions & width of the Charcuterie boards in your video. Thanks again for making this video.

Thanks for watching and for the kind words. We're glad you found it helpful! I love this technique for cutting/serving boards in particular because edge grain boards are a step up in quality and can grab a higher price point. Also if there is maple or anything else with nice ray flecking, that gets put on display. As far the the size of these goes, they vary because I chose to freehand them instead of use a template. Most are somewhere around 16" x 5.5"

Great video, I tried a live edge charcuterie board in my area, lots of compliments on it but no buyers. I have had better luck doing state shaped plaques/ cutting boards.

Thanks for watching! In our experience the multi-wood glue up is a reliable seller across different items. We've had luck with cribbage boards done that way too. That's a great idea with the state-shaped boards. Best of luck out there!

Nice work. I use the same angled packing strips. Works great. Also the thin metal roof edging works good too. Just run some packing tape on the top so there's no transfer from the metal to the board. Have you made templates out of masonite to speed up the process? I've done that for a Romeo & Juliette board. And the 2 Cookbook stands that I just started making. What area are you showing at craft fairs? And how much did you charge and how many did you sell? Thank you in advance and thank you for your content. I video and edit for my wife's baking website and I know how much work it is. It doesn't just jump from the camera to KZbin.

Thanks for the kind words and the tip about the metal roof edging. I have definitely flattened my share of those cardboard braces so it would be good to have to have some more permanent ones. The cardboard can suck the oil out of an item hit with oil-based finish so I will sometimes blue tape/clear tape them as well. I have not made any templates for this particular item because we don't sell them online, just at shows. Some solid router templates could really speed things up and make the boards identical though. Thanks for asking about the craft fairs, not many people do. We've sold a fair number of these (10ish?) at shows but usually also have more traditional rectangle boards alongside them that sell at about the same rate. These are a small/medium size so I will price them as low as $25, though at the right show they will sell for $40. Most of the shows we've done so far are in MA but all around the state. It's tough for us as woodworkers...we are too honest to be salesmen! 😂

Drill press table and it was less than 60 days old

Ah man, sorry to hear that. So far I have their drill press, hanging air filter, and oscillating spindle sander. They've all been great for me for the price point. I've had no issues with either the air filter or the sander and just the spindle spring broke on the drill press but they sent a new one at no cost. Hopefully they all continue to work for me 🤞

I bought a WEN product and had a warranty issue. WEN would not honor it claiming it was bought through an unapproved source. Harbor freight sells the same sander and will stand behind it. I would stay away from WEN products.

Thanks for watching and sharing your story. My own experience with WEN customer service was positive luckily. The spindle return spring on my drill press broke and they sent a free replacement with no hassle. I bought the drill press through Amazon but they didn't seem to care. Which Wen tool did you have the warranty issue with?
