I love that PC & Trovarsi do demos of new gear with classic gear. I dig seeing the classics making new sounds. Dope stuff.

demos the 0-ctrl nicely but god does this not do the moog justice
@Ferrichrome4 жыл бұрын
Why not exactly?
@maliciousmachine32594 жыл бұрын
@@Ferrichrome looks like the envelopes weren't used at all, of course, that's a limitation of the moog since it doesn't use 1/4 jacks for trigs... however, if they'd used an adapter to add some envelope action? I think the demo would have been much nicer - everything feels so harsh and choppy. that said, not using the envelopes does help in parts like 3:15, because it lets the pressure sensitivity of the 0-ctrl really shine. also, throwing on a little reverb is always nice, but i guess some might say that detracts from the raw timbre of the moog.

@@maliciousmachine3259 We didn't use the Moog's envelope generator because we instead wanted to try out the envelope generator built into the 0-CTRL.

After every demo ever being exceptionally lame, I'm ready to go ahead and call the moog system an historic stepping stone in the synth world, a lame instrument to make music with. Not even perfect circuit can do it justice
@Skelanth7214 жыл бұрын
As overrated as I often think they are, Daft Punk's Random Access Memories is the best use of an older Moog this side of the year 2000--they used one for all the synth parts on that album.
@Rhythmicons4 жыл бұрын
Well, It's about the tone, which isn't going to be highlighted when you throw a shitty controller like the operator on this video does. Those are some rich oscillators and some of the modules have secondary and tertiary functions. When dealing with a fundamental synth voice like this it becomes more about the musician's input. If one can't make music on it it's their own fault.

@@favoriteblueshirt What gives you the impression that these sounds are produced by a machine as expensive as a pack of cigarettes? Is it the fact that it's a dry signal? I'm genuinely curious to know how you auditive geniuses differentiate that stuff. What does money sound like?

Such a shame, buy a Bontempi organ, less expensive for an awful demo like that.
