Hi, I am the son of two artists and began painting in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia before I could walk. I was a rare combination of artist and athlete so I moved to Los Angeles in 2008 to play football for USC. I left the team my sophomore year to focus on painting and filmmaking, applying the same focus and discipline from my football career to my art. I primarily work in oils, and spend most free days painting "en plein air" in my new home of Sarasota Florida.

I am so excited that I happened upon your videos! I started with watercolors and am glad that 4 yrs later now that I am branching out to acrylics. I painted the apple you suggested in one of the videos , but with a watercolor background that I had already prepared earlier. I use google Picasso to change the photo before printing. Printers - the true color does not transfer. I’ve tried HP, Canon only way is go to kinkos.. any ideas on printers? iPhone ten - I find photos get distorted. I take a photo of painting and it’s not same saturation, brilliance etc.

Landscapes! I find it so difficult to approach them. They always look so intimidating. How do they make grass without actually drawing in grass? How do we make mountains with all that highlight and shade? How are waves painted? Everything is just so hard xD

I usually just use my default "photo editing" feature on my computer's photo viewer to adjust the settings on the photo. Or I'll use Google photos (which is free).

photopea.com - it's a browser based Photoshop clone. I wouldn't recommend trying to use it on a phone, but on a tablet or desktop it's ace.
