Hello from Dubuque, Iowa-Joan Tully, why wouldn't you change from the wet paper to the drier paper when ironing the fibers? Wouldn't that help dry the fibers faster?
@angiredd174 жыл бұрын
What a unique skill to learn!! I can not wait to find out how to use this in another project! If there are two colors laid on top, does it create a halo effect like a prefect would do in a finished project?
@LivingFelt4 жыл бұрын
When done in two layers like this and then felted with fine wool, you see very little wool migration -- the sheen just sits right on top.

Silk paper is soo interesting, never heard of it! Even though I never did wet felting, it might make me try it so I can make them and use them in a background to my framed needle feting 2D’s. *SUGGESTION* : I absolutely trust your knowledge and methods to be some of the best, easiest and most reliable. So I’d love it if you make a WW live tutorial on cleaning dirty wool. I have a variety o unwashed curly locks in bags and I never dared to open them because I am afraid to under-clean them. *PLEASE HELP* 😊

What is the difference between Tussah Silk and a Silk Sliver? Can Silk Sliver be used to make the Silk Paper?
@LivingFelt4 жыл бұрын
Tussah is the the TYPE of silk...Marie explained Tussah vs Bombyx. Sliver is the "form" of the silk: Sliver and Top are the same thing and is what Marie used today, but she also used Silk HANKIES....which is a different "form" of silk.
@katiejo9113 жыл бұрын
can you presoak the hankies to get better absorption?

Sorry what is MC1? I thought I would write comments as I watch the recording.. hi from a cold day in Tasmania, Australia
@LivingFelt4 жыл бұрын
Giselle, MC-1 is our signature fiber, USA sheep, approx. 25 microns and the fiber is short and crimpy. You can needle felt with it or wet felt it..or both.
@giselleburningham32044 жыл бұрын
LivingFelt ok dumb question.. if we are felting then why can’t we use any old wool.. the microns etc won’t matter. I thought it was only spinning and knitting was when the length and strength of wool was important.
