The freeze dried method has been my favorite one so far!! It truly is the only strawberry buttercream you'll ever need! And it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet..it was perfect! I managed to frost a 3 layer 8 inch chocolate cake with it perfectly, and topped it with gnache and fresh gnache covered strawberries to decorate! It was absolutely amazing😊 thank you for shqring!!❤️

This dried berry recipe is exactly what I need to top the cake for my Son's "surprise party" cake. He loves berries yet this frosting will be a surprise ! In so excited to use the freeze dried strawberries one on my sifted 13th birthday cake! Question, can you make this in advance and if so how do you recommend storing it and for up to how long?
@SugarSpunRun3 ай бұрын
Fresh strawberry frosting will keep at room temperature for up to one day or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. If making in advance, store in an airtight container with a piece of plastic wrap directly against the surface. You will need to let the frosting soften for a bit at room temperature and then stir before using. Strawberry frosting made with freeze-dried berries will keep at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week or longer. They are both great options. If you cover the cakes they shouldn't dry out, but honestly the refrigerator can dry out just about any cake.

How many cupcakes can you decorate with the amounts used? Thank you
@SugarSpunRun Жыл бұрын
This recipe makes enough frosting to generously cover 12 cupcakes (as seen in the video and photos) or modestly cover 24 cupcakes. It will also cover a 1-layer 13×9 cake or a 2-layer 8” or 9” cake (but you will not have extra frosting left to decorate the top/sides of the cake).

Hi! Which strawberry mixture do u prefer? The one with fresh Strawberries or dried? Also do u think using organic ingredients will make a difference?
@SugarSpunRun3 жыл бұрын
Personally I couldn't choose, they were both so good. Freeze dried is a little bit easier so I tend to gravitate towards that. Organic ingredients shouldn't change your flavor any. It should work just fine. ☺️

My aunt made it but it was soupy and she tried adding more powdered sugar and now she has added flour lol idk it's a mess.
@melissastewart2472 жыл бұрын
I also think she added way too many fresh strawberries and instead of folding them in a little at a time she dumped it all in and used a big fast mixer
@SugarSpunRun2 жыл бұрын
Ahhh yeah unfortunately if you don’t cook down those berries enough and you add excess moisture it’s going to be difficult to save. You also need to make sure your reduction cools enough before continuing or else it will just melt the powdered sugar. 😔
