I've been bow hunting on Adventurer, it's not "easy" to do by any means yet you can easily get within 70-40 meters of animals . One thing I noticed that's a lot different from COTW is you really REALLY need those passive "perks" that make your crouch/prone quieter and make you less visible. Then I've also been noticing the animals are a lot more "realisitic" compared to cotw where you actually need to stop when their looking in your direction, take pauses in movement etc etc. It's been an utter blast, most fun I've had in a while was out on a mission when next thing I know audio que behind me, I turn thinking it's something small NOPE, huge pack of hyena were stalking me. Was spooked a little and instantly sent an arrow at the lead female hyena and she didn't go 20. It's a blast and a good challenge compared to COTW arcade feeling imo. Now I just wish we could have some bait feeders, tracer arrows and I'd be a happy camper

this "near impossible" to hunt with bows at certain difficulties has to be addressed... with blinds and stands... Game's still pretty young

I play on hunter difficulty. And i think flinter does too. I can get within 50yds without alerting animals. Make sure you move when they are not looking. You can also use callers too. Hiker makes the game so boring and easy i like the challenge.

As for me, i can just get within 250m, and use the caller. The game gives us those for a reason. Got a lion from 35m away and he walks from 248m to search for the distressed rabbit noise from the caller

i play on hunter and the way to work around it is to put as much brush and land/rocks between you and the animal. I also find it useful to position yourself in front of them and let them come with no calls, this sometimes doesnt work though.

I've been playing on Hiker day one, mainly because of the reasons you said, but also it give's me more of a COTW feel where I can move around quicker without spooking animals and get more kills

I play on adventurer and just use the decreased vehicle spook range to cheese it a little when im in a hurry, if you get out really quick u can drive very close and they will just be alerted

Still on hunter mode and concure..its damn hard to sneek any closer than 150ish. But I have found a method that works!...Ive been watching the herds/Animals direction of travel...they follow trails etc, so I place myself in the line of travel and just wait for them to come to me...seems to be working nicely. (I have also noticed that I can stalk closer when crouched & in slow sneek using 4-5 steps at a time (and wait between moves!), than I can when Im prone?...prone seems to be louder than slow crouch??) Afk grind the crouching/prone passive perks. It helps out tremendously

IRL moving in a crouch is quieter than in the prone position. Think about how loud crawling in the prone position would be in real life.

You can't continuously move, you have to pause for a little bit, and as u get closer you have shorten how far you move each time. With a little practice it is slower. But in high animal senses u can get 20 to 40 m which is either hunter or ranger

And yes u need to crawl , I find in high u probably need to crawl around 95m, slow crawl inside 75mish, slow crouch at about 130m. These will be further out in lower animal sense settings

Yeah i get within 50 yds everytime. Then again alot of these KZbins are so used to playing cotw and that game is not realistic at all just fast travel around and know just kill animals like its call of duty. This game u really have to think and plan the hunt become the animal.

There’s a button to crouch walk even slower DD. I think it is left CTRL on PC could be left ALT, I play on PS5 so can’t remember to be sure but it’s one of them and I get close to 60metres to animals on Hunter difficulty using it

One thing I don't like about WotH is it's spook-o-meter mechanic. You gotta move and then stop for a while to let it cool down, thenove a bit and stop again rinse and repeat. Once this meter reaches the threshold, animals goin to run no matter what. Using callers is the better option here.

Do you have your prone perk maxed out? You become almost invisible

Patiance is the name of the game on higher difficulty. take a few steps stop and glass animals if any alert stand or lay still until they calm! rinse and repeat until in proper range for double lung shot, I believe somewhere in between 30-40 meters. remember patience is key keep it low and slow. Key is to enjoy this wonderful game and there is no shame in turning difficulty level to low just remember to practice keeping it low and slow take a few steps stop and glass pay attention to the animals and you can turn difficulty up as you improve enjoy have fun

It's not for everybody but I'll stick with hunter with hopes of changing to ranger one day. I think the key is to place yourself along the movement trails the animals take between zones & wait for them to come to you.

I think the larger spook range was the reason they gave us calls for animals that it wouldnt affect IRL. I also take advantage of the cool "curious" behavior of buffalo getting them to come check me out doing a little shimmy shimmy

what works for me when calling is to get within 160 and just keep calling without moving at all, they get within 40 yards no problem

It's hard, near impossible to get within 80yds of a heard. My closest Buffalo Bowhunt was 16Yds. The Buffalo & Loins though seem to have like psychic senses. You have to move when they're not looking. They need to bring in Blinds & Treestands though.

If you got your hunter sens on on the right up side of your screen you can see an eye thats the gauge for your stealth if the eye is on you can be see

You need the find a way to make them come to you. Good luck doing that also as it’s still painfully slow but it’s easier than trying to stalk.

Hmm. Apparently my cape buffalo are evil compared to everyone else. I play on Hunter, get within 150yd in sneak then swap between slow sneak and slow prone until they're alerted. When that happens the larger males slowly walk towards me with their heads down. I then draw my bow and stand up, the buffalo charge me and I take the shot. It's 50/50 wether they drop or I get gored.

I've hunted on ranger using bows and have gotten foxes, badgers, quail, mule deer, white tail deer, and boar. I gotta try the new map soon.

My son watches your videos. I went hunting on the Africa map with him yesterday. We were both in hiking difficulty. I was trying to stalk and shoot the prey, taking my time to shoot the adult males. Meanwhile he was flying up in the Jeep like vehicle, running over animals, coming out guns a blazin' and stealing my would be kills. He's 8. He is also wondering why I'm not wanting to bow hunt with him in game now.

No chance. I'm doing hunter. Either use callers,or observe the direction they are moving and get ahead of them. Adventurer is where you can have all of success. Hiker is far too easy,no challenge whatsoever

No you are wrong. Even in the max hard level you can go much closer. You just must do go and stop system. You cant just constantly moveing forward. I thought you are a real hunter. So you would know. So do like 3 steps and stop for few sec.

@@JigginwithMoose yeah i seen a guy blast a Elk at 1090 Yards Irl. Some have killed further than that. Its not practical but possible. Cotw animals disappear at 400 yrds.
