just got a 99 kx250 absolute beast
@GregHitchko Жыл бұрын
Heck yeah! Dude they seriously are
@Bixbysayshi2 жыл бұрын
I have a 98 Kx250, & by FAR the most balanced & settled the bike has ever felt is with an 80/100-21 front, 120/80-19 rear (either MX33's or EMEX T-35's), forks 1.5mm lower than the stock position mark/ring, somewhere around 104-105 sag on stock springs front & rear (make sure your nitrogen bladder is 142 PSI & holding pressure), with compression somewhere around 8-12 clicks & rebound around 12-15 clicks on the forks, & compression around 12-14 & rebound around 9-12 clicks on the shock. I try to bleed the forks as regularly as I can, and run 12-14 PSI depending on how soft the track is. I live in New Mexico, so it's incredibly slick hard pack (think unfinished concrete) with pebbles, rocks, square edges, and super inconsistent traction due to all the sand and moon dust over the hard base, and then we have to deal with SUPER deep sandy/moon dust corners. but so far this setup has been money
@GregHitchko2 жыл бұрын
This is some fire information my man! I will definitely put this to use. I know what you mean about riding in those moon dust type conditions after spending the last four years in Utah! I know I’ll be a little heavy for the stock settings but plan on getting the correct springs and work done to it soon after I first ride it. Much appreciated! 💨💨

Had a few of these Kx250's and the only problem was snapping the damping rods in deep sand and at Hawkstone Park Paul Coppers mechanic swapped the rod out in between races swapped it out. This was in the UK.
@GregHitchko2 жыл бұрын
Oh damn! Snapping the damping rods?! That sounds intense. Hopefully I don't have that issue. If I do, it seems I could find a set of forks on ebay or something. Or a part out. Why just in deep sand did they snap?

@@GregHitchko oh man the sun rose and set with hockey for me. It warms my heart that you played youth hockey here, probably somewhere in Alberta i'd guess eh? I live in Ontario, grew up in Toronto but now have a bit of property and live more in the northern part of Ont.

Man this thing is so clean, so wild looking at the same bike I have but the bolts haven't been removed 1000x lol. On my forks (99) I believe I followed the Clymer manual and left 5mm or so and it seems to handle well. I have racetech gold valves and my bike was set up for a 170lb rider. Love the purple bars, you're making me want to swap my black pro tapers 🤣
@GregHitchko2 жыл бұрын
Hahah dude these bolts will for sure be removed 1000x by me as well now, that is for sure. Thanks for the heads up on the fork height, that sounds like a solid starting point and then test from there. How do you like the racetech gold valve set up? I'm thinking about doing the same thing I did with my shootout bikes for this set for forks and shock. It's going to be way too soft for my weight and ability in stock form. I also support the purple bar move haha. Get on Renthal'e site and see where you can grab a set before they are really all gone. I'm sure ebay could have some too!
@Nahtanoj652 жыл бұрын
@@GregHitchko I'm probably a bad reference since my bikes suspension was clapped when I got it, so racetech is all I know. Can't beat setting things up for your weight and riding style, I'd definitely ditch the stock stuff. I have a local guy, shock zone suspension services, that set me up. He does remote work for people as well!

What type of 2stroke oil The Best ? I've told you many times Blenzal Racing Castor/VP MRX02 🏁🏁🏁🇺🇸🧐 yes the MRX02 is pricey but the throttle response is worth it

I really need to check out MRX02! The cleaner the fuel the better for the engine that’s for sure. I need to check out the budget and see where I can get it lol!
@331moto2 жыл бұрын
Depends on how and what type of riding you do. I prefer klotz R-50. I woods ride and do some MX. Castor oils are great, but if you aren't wide open and running the bike hard they tend to gum up. Klotz R50 burns clean at lower engine temps and rpms and smells frigging awesome.
