Many years ago, when I was passing through the airport in Turkey, I saw some turkish delight, but at the time I didn't know what it was so I never purchased it. Years later I ordered some online for my daughter and I. We just love it! Now I can make it at home for my Grandchildren. Thank you for this wonderful recipe! 😊

As a child i never liked Turkish delight. Here in the UK we had some nasty chocolate covered sweet. In the early 70's my dad took me to an Iranian ship. The captain gave my brothers and I "proper" Turkish delight and I've loved it ever since

I just made some with real rosewater I made yesterday from wild roses on the mountain, to die for! House smelled like roses all day, wonderful :) So my first try at lokum was OK I think, still waiting for it to set, but with Canadian corn starch probably 50% more water must be added as it turned into cold putty. Bir iyi gün ve Çok güzel Refıka! Teşekkür ederim!

Hi Refika.. i don't know where i went wrong. I tried a batch earlier and it was way too soft and didn't set well. Then i tried it a second time with orange juice - adding 1 cup of fresh juice along with the starch as you'd suggested - and cooked it all together till the soft ball stage... But it's set so hard that i'll perhaps have to hammer it into pieces to consume it :) Also, when i poured the starch mix into the boiled sugar mix, it didn't thicken up like yours. I'd like to try it again but then wanna be sure of where i might have gone wrong so i don't have to throw another batch away :) Suggestions? :) Thanks Love from India

Hey Refika, I really like your videos, because you are so charming and hospitable, your husband is very sweet, and your team is lovely. Also, I like Türkiye and turkish food a lot, and I cant wait to be back in Türkiye in September. I dont normally like sweet things, but I really like lokum. However, just plain lokum (lemon, rose and pomegranate are my favourite flavours), without pistachios, nuts or any other things. I know that on our last day in Türkiye, we will go to the spice bazaar in Istanbul, and I will buy a big box of lokum, to take a slice of Türkiye back home ;-). P.S. Thanks to you, I learnt that Id-al-Fitr is called Bayram in Türkiye
