This video is just what I've been looking for, thanks ! Subscribed ,just one thing, your audio has a bad echo from recording in the kitchen , maybe an echo canceling mics or some kind of material to absorb the echo from bouncing all around.

Can you do 50 proof?

Unfortunately, no. 50 proof is only 25% alcohol which is below the 35%-50% (or 70-100 proof) that you need to be for regular extracts. If you're using fresh fruit, you need even higher proof. :)

I have Everclear 151 proof (75.5% ABV). How do I reduce it to get 50% ABV?. I'm assuming 3/4 cup alcolhol to 1/4 cup distilled water. Is that correct?

If you're using it just for vanilla extract, the min ABV is 35%, so you could do 1 part water to 1 part 151 proof everclear (50/50) which will give you exactly 37.75%abv which is perfect. If you're trying to hit 50% exactly, the math is a bit more complicated but adding 3 parts 151 everclear to 1 part water as you suggest should get you pretty close to 50%.

How many beans do you put in 8 oz?

For single fold, 1oz of beans to every 8oz of alcohol. Make sure your alcohol is between 35%-50%abv (70-100 proof). If you're using everclear, you will need to dilute it with filtered water to get to that abv range before adding the beans. Have fun!
