Guards and horses have the right of way…always.

Indeed, but most guards walk so fast (some almost run !) that people often barely have the time to hear or to react, especially in big crowds. Imagine if they make a pregnant woman fall or someone carrying a child, an handicapped person... There's a trooper (I know his name but I think that's not OK to spread his personal info online), he always walks slowly, I think I've never seen him shout, he just walks between people and I think that's a better method especially when people are packed.

There are plenty of videos of him shouting at tourists touching him when standing in front by the gates. He had a moustache at the time, so looked a bit different.

@@isabelros2947 That's why I typed "..." as a "etc" (but the comma is missing, sorry about that) because I can't name every situation. 😋 Exactly ! I too understand the tradition but I think that at this point, if they don't want to be more flexible they should forbid people to access the yard and this part of the sidewalk, like people should stand behind the black poles and that's it. No one should be allowed to touch the horses or to stand that close to the guards anyway so that would be more safe and less stressful for everyone. There's one guard in particular who's thicker than the other ones, he has a mustache and looks a bit older, he's always very aggressive in the way he walks and speaks for no reason, he walks like a tank with his weight forward ready to make fly anyone who would be standing on his way and I really don't understand this type of attitude because it doesn't look militaristic to me, just ridiculous.

It is clearly not a theme park, so I would suggest people start asking themselves why this particular military square is being presented as if it was one. Are tourists being deliberately set-up to fail? And if so, why? Let me think, what could the answer to such a question be......what indeed could the reason really be for it all, eh, folks? Do'h!

The lady herself is clearly not trained for this type of staged military charade and neither should she be expected to be capable of the type of discipline and physical awareness of a much younger person. Knocking innocent members of the public aside is wholly unacceptable and quite unnecessary. The fact that the general public are freely allowed to be in the vicinity at all should give you enough of a clue to realise just how they are being set-up and used in such an audacious propaganda exercise as this quite obviously is. And incidents such as this do tend to leave people with a bit of a nasty taste in their mouth.

I went to US school. It has rule that says 'don't stork 1 feet distant from the building' Royal family needs the rule "don't stand 3m in from the horse house" Don't put the children under and close alone the Military Horse. It is well trained but it is wild animal. I saw KZbin. How many people touch the horse. More 20times. Do you like somebody touch your body? NO! This summer many tourist comes from all over world. Royal family need new sign.

Hmm...one has to be aware that this whole style of presentation has been primarily contrived as a propaganda exercise while implicating the general public in the inevitable dramas that result from the interactions taking place in front of and within the square the guards have as their main focal point. If it is so important that neither the guards nor their horses are interfered with at any point, why are the public allowed to get so close to them hour after hour and day after day? One moment it seems okay to pet the horses in a photo opportunity and the next an unfortunate tourist gets yelled at or even barged into as if they were a private in the army. The fact is, folks, you are being played and made fools of purely for the sake of the effect it generates. It's almost as if many military personel have an inherent contempt for the ordinary citizen and thereby like to emphasise the difference to their own satisfaction.

There seems to be so many of these Kings Guard channels it’s becoming ridiculous. I understand that there are idiots who show no respect, but for this Guard to plow into an old frail lady seems over the top. This is a big tourism business for London and therefore with all the viewers watching people may get turned off.
@geoffberesford
@geoffberesford 4 ай бұрын
A tourism business combined with an exercise in propaganda is exactly what it is. The fact that the general public are freely allowed to mill around, both within and directly in front of this area of horseguards parade should tell everyone everything they need to know about being exploited by the sort of conditions that virtually guarantees the type of visual conflict and inevitable drama that can unfold. A set-up that is primarily contrived to enhance the image of the British establishment.

In civvie land he might be out of order, but not the Guards. No one gets in their way. The only person who can get in his way in the King. That's their training and the tourist have to learn the hard way, unless they've looked up the Horse Guards rules of training.
