I've come across your videos a while ago and have to say I love them. I was part of an MLM which I don't hear a lot of people discuss: Stampin' Up! - A lot of people don't think it as a MLM/pyramid scheme, but it is. The more I watch, the more I realize. I stopped about two years and so glad I did. Thank you for your videos!

My poor, wonderful husband fell for these types of targeted meetups because he was not only scared of his financial situation’s future but he grew up being taunted for being nerdy and “soft.” It was not manly to be on a choir or go to comic book conventions or enjoy Nintendo games. People like this made him feel like he could find a place in the world as long as he listened, spoke and acted like them. It took nearly 15 years for the both of us to be fully free of this choking mindset. While I’m sad we wasted our 20s on Amway, I don’t regret that we mourned the loss together and held each other up. I’m glad I fell in love with the man he actually was instead of the one he wanted but didn’t need to be.

Completely lost it at the fake watches sales bit 💀💀💀 I fortunately never got involved with an MLM, but my mom and I had a brief brush with one many years ago. I don't remember the exact name, but they were "selling" jewelry in Germany. A rep tried to recruit my mother since she was looking for additional work. My mom did check out the website, roasted the jewelry on offer especially for the inflated prizes and then crunched the numbers only to arrive at the conclusion that she'd have to sell humongous amounts of cheap tat to her loved ones who deserve better, every damn month, to even cover the monthly inventory expense. We weren't thinking about kickbacks from recruitment/having a downline because that makes no sense for normal salesmen and at the time, we didn't know that's how MLMs work. The last straw was that when she said she'd consider signing up under a friend of hers and not the initial rep who pitched to her, the initial rep unleashed a wave of harrassment until my mom blocked her number. If only we'd known why she cared about whom my mom signs under....
