Vit D through sunlight exposure is vital for healthy looking skin. When its above 70 here in Florida, I get 2 hours of sun exposure on Saturday and 2 hours on Sunday morning - NO sunscreen at all. The morning sun is not intense. I'm also 59 and get told all the time that I look like in my early 40s. Ironically, most of the people I know with lots of wrinkles are either hardly ever out in the sun, or they're getting too much intense sunlight. Moderation is the key.

That’s why I use vitamin d+ infrared light+ sunscreen, it has the same benefits of the sun without the ultraviolet part. Also people that don’t see the sun could hardly have an active and healthy life.

I had a make up artist tell me that eye creams that tighten the eyes are more harmful in the long run because they tighten the eyes but in the long run it will make your eyes look more saggy because of the tension release. Meaning because the cream has pulled your skin when the cream wears off your eye loses its elastine and can become saggy .
@shitmandood
@shitmandood Жыл бұрын
When you’re old it’s already saggy, it can’t be more saggy. All it means is the tightness is gone and so the skin returns to the default sagging, which it’ll keep doing as you get older anyway.

They’re thin, breathable and pale skin tone colored so for me it’s perfect to wear in the summer as they aren’t immediately noticeable. I am 43 and it's starting to happen for real, my aging that is. Having a hard time with the "loosing my beauty" thing, very conflicted though since I also understand I am conditioned to think youth is the only attractivness that is worth something. Saggy skin started happening just this year and the last months I also have extreme puffiness around my eyes and I don't recognize myself when i look in the mirror. Horror. Anyways, don't know what I want to achieve with this post, guess venting is good enough even if it's not gonna be read. Ppl in the matrix, do you get me? On a less matrix focused note, but rather a philosophical one, I can't help but think: is this fear of aging actually the fear of the inevitable, meaning death. And all the anxiety that comes with that and fear of not having accomplished enough and so on, all boiled down to an actually unimportant stress about the physicality. At the same time we live in this physicality and can't escape it (until death which automatically frees us from it all but also creates this discomfort). Food for thought maybe. On this note, have a great day, under eye bags or not.

I am 43 too and can totally relate to what you are saying! The only answer I found for myself is that aging is a natural process and I should learn to embrace it. Just put the effort in being groomed but not try to look younger than I actually am. Audrey Hepburn and how she aged is an inspiration to me. Elegant and classy at 20 or 60, no difference. And I think once one is past 70, the last thing they worry about is looks. At that point every extra day of relative health is a precious gift.

Genetics play such a big role. I’m 49 and look late 30s. At 20 I looked early teen. So I know it’s mainly genetics. Moisturizing is key and staying out of harsh sun even though I’m from the tropics. Also having a bit of facial fat helps. Note to older women - *too many* hours in the gym and achieving that gaunt stringy look makes the face look older. Moderation is key.

I am close to 50 and always looked young and had soft skin. One of my secrets was staying out of the sun but I did tan a bit in my 20s because people didn't want to be so white then. I also stopped using soap and stuck with bodywash. Soap always dryed my skin and never kept it moist. I never used creams on my face all my life though. I recently started using a collagen cream though to see if it will fix the wrinkles I started getting around the eyes. If I didn't have those wrinkles I would probably still look in my 20s but women actually didn't really like that I looked young because it would make them feel awkward with me. Now I actually get more attention as I am looking older with a young face. Lol

FYI: Chris, try the DHC eye cream! I’ve tried more than I can count over the last 40 years, even very expensive brands, and the DHC actually absorbs and is making a difference! And, thank you for the City Beauty sculpting cream suggestion! I can’t use it under my eyes - too thick, causes those clogged pore white bumps - but it is helping my skin. Most of the serums you suggest are just too harsh and literally burn my skin, causing red patches that turn rough and I have to “scrub” them off like a sunburn. Even the bakuchiol! I can’t use them but a day or two a week!

Be careful not to damage your skin when you have a reaction. I'm the same!! Irritation should be treated with emollients. Never exfoliate irritated or damaged skin, it ages so much faster. You might have eczema like me, meaning oils are your best friend. Argan, vitamin e, wheatgerm oil, grapeseed oil are all great for this. Grapeseed oil is great for the eyes as it doesn't cause puffiness when used selectively.

I just discovered you tonight and after a couple videos I immediately subscribed. I cannot believe you are the same age as I am! When I first tuned in I thought, ‘well this guy is so much younger than I, no wonder he looks great’ 😳 I cannot thank you enough for the tips you have given me. Amazing! I’m on a strict budget so I am already a huge fan. Being a cosmetologist I realize your advice is spot on. Thanks so much!!! ❤

My skin around my eyes is amazing so is the rest of my body skin and face. Im 38 and I started my skin care seriously at 35 only, SO far what I know is, its genetics that mainly decide it, but staying away from sun also is a big part of it.

I'd rather enjoy the sun than avoid it.. sun is soo good 😊 but I'm 35 and people think I'm 25 or younger most of the time. Maybe i should just start using sunscreen and continue enjoying our beautiful sun😊🌞

@@DDK4411totally get that….sun is healthy and it’s wayyyy more than just vitamin D. I think how sensitive you are to damage is based on genetics. Myself and most my family spend LOTS of unprotected time in the sun. We all look great. Even my 85 year old aunt looks amazing for her age. Smooth soft skin, way less wrinkles than most 80 year olds. That said, she does moisturize, as do I. I also eat well and hydrate well. Sun feels healthy and sun screen feels like toxic chemicals. Yet some people seem to significantly photo age just by sitting near a window, or walking to the mailbox. So everyone has to assess their own risk and genetics. If you are prone to photosensitivity, you’ll def regret it when you turn 40 and look 55!

@@DDK4411 you should. Bc that young appearance won't last, that sun will dry, wrinkle, leave damage, & it'll all of sudden one day really catch up with us. It's a lot harder to accept when it happens, than when it hasn't happened yet.

Just to add, for some of us that live in northern climates, we lack vitamin D for most of the year, so exposure to sun is really important. (Doctors here recommend to take a vitamin D supplement or, the obvious, get outside to get sun exposure, which is tough when it’s freezing cold out)

Chris is very knowledgeable about skin care but also about health. I know this from his videos as he is doing many things to protect his health. But those of you who are middle-aged or older and stay out of the sun completely, watch out. You may be missing on the benefits of the sun for health.

Still using my Garnier green tube roll on, alternating it even on the same treatment with Verde Advanced Retinoid Eye Cream. For women, it is all about how much estrogen you have in your skin. At 50 you probably have not yet finished having a menstrual cycle. So using Dove soap and Nivea face cream is great, and staying out of the sun is even greater because that is where most of the sun damage causes the photo aging. But once your skin becomes estrogen depleted, it's all downhill.
