Exhaust sounds are so hard to get right through microphones, recordings typically don't do them justice. It is just deeper in sound, but since that video I have changed exhausts.

Do you know if this trick would work on a 2017 Audi Q7? If so would the harness be in approximately the same location?
@johny46503 жыл бұрын
Hi Lance, does this make it sound like dynamic mode or louder?
@midtenn_life3 жыл бұрын
So it does make the exhaust deeper all the time. But if you want the pops and bangs then you still need to put it in sport mode.
@rcabal14662 жыл бұрын
To piggy back off of what Lance said, it's said the the exhaust valves are not open full time, even in dynamic, so this should make it louder regardless of what mode

Dynamic pops are almost 100% interior audio aha

Hi! Can you confirm the valve will remain open after the connector is disconnected? Did you have the add a mechanical feature to keep the valve open?

Is the flap always open when the car is shut off or do I need to put it in Dynamic then shut the car off?
@midtenn_life2 жыл бұрын
Gotta forgive me a little here, Paul. It has been a while since I looked into all of this but from memory I believe it stays closed, on start up, regardless of what mode you are in. Even if you are in dynamic when the car shuts off it will still be closed when you start. Again, from memory and I have slept a bunch of times :)
@paulgarcia10872 жыл бұрын
@@midtenn_life ok thanks, after reading my question I realized I left some of it out. Basically does it matter when I unplug the valve or do I have to wait for the car to open the valve then unplug it so it stays open
@midtenn_life2 жыл бұрын
@@paulgarcia1087 the only way I can answer this is, turn your car off and look up there, if it is open then just unplug it. if it is closed, then maybe start it, put in dynamic and turn off and see if it stays open. The flap moves a lot faster than you think it does.

What are the cons of this? Why are the flaps there?
@midtenn_life2 жыл бұрын
Not that I have ever found, but I love to hear my exhaust. It will throw a soft code that you will never see on the dash or anything. It is quieter with the flap closed.
@50caLIndycar2 жыл бұрын
Why not just setup your individual driving mode with dynamic exhaust?that's all I do. So your valve is always open when driving in individual mode.
@midtenn_life2 жыл бұрын
Not everyone wants to drive around with the dynamic suspension setting, Lord knows I don’t. My individual is set to comfort but I wanted the benefit of deeper, flap always open setup. Mine isn’t like that anymore since I have AWE mufflers though.

does the sq5 have a valve on both sides or just the driver's side?

From what I remember, driver only.

Doesn't this throw codes once you unplug it? Hence the need for a plug-in delete? I would absolutely tap up the actuater plug that's open now.
@midtenn_life2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does throw a soft code, so therefore it does not show up in the dash. IMO there is no need to spend money on plug in delete since the CEL does not come on. The dealership never says anything about it either.

@mpddiesel Жыл бұрын
@@oldy20b It works. Just make sure you have the valves open when you unplug your connector or they will stay closed. I have a video short on my channel after deleting resonators and mufflers. I used a magnaflow 11385 in place of the two small resonators in the center. It sounds good, but drones badly on the highway. I plan to add two Vibrant resonators in place of the deleted mufflers to see if that will tone it down a little. Its just a bit loud for my taste currently.
