I believe Dan Post makes good boots. I guess they're hand made in Mexico. Is there any other good cowboy style boot brands?

I bought a really nice-looking pair of Dan Post rattlesnake boots secondhand on Ebay and noticed a small tear in the skin on one of them where it's starting to peel. What do you recommend to fix it with? I've tried using proprietary adhesives off-the-shelf on my older pair and they leaked through where applied, got hard and stiff after setting up and promoted further deterioration. I want these boots to last a long time and maintain their appearance. I thought about using double-stick tape, but was afraid the adhesive on it would deteriorate and ruin the skin over time. The online store I purchased them from has a no-return policy.

I have a few pairs there are over 25 years old through two pairs out which I shouldn’t have I didn’t know any better back then miss placed one pair somewhere to sit around here but I need another black one is which is fine if I can’t find them right now but 10 pairs right now plus a lot of dress boots that I don’t wear anymore because there’s 3 1/2 inch heels and a pair of Stilettos thigh boots w/ 4” heels “yikes” lol

i just bought my first boots and the store was trying to sell me these wood foot things to put in my boots when i am not wearing them... they are $30, are they necessary??? or are they being stupid????? i haven't seen a video where people talk about them yet..

Yes, those wooden inserts really do help cowboy boots keep their shape. And, as the commenter below mentioned - they will be much easier to keep clean!

+gunshooter26 Boot trees are highly recommend to extend the life of your boots. I work in a western store, and I never suggest a product to a customer unless it's in their best interest and it's what's best for their boots, hat, etc. When you shop in a western store, and you know the sales associate who's helping you lives the country/western lifestyle, take their advice to heart. They know what they're talking about because it's their lifestyle.

@@FMLightandSons Also to add a temporary internal filler to make them easier to work on when necessary. I've found crumpled newspaper stuffed inside to be almost as good.

Boot trees also help to draw out moisture and keep the oder under control.
