you can do this with just one Lfo device, and formant sounds killer too!

You can also do this by adding swing, changing velocities of your hi hats, which in my opinion is more controlled and not as random

What? It’s random because you select random if you want order just use any of the other LFO shapes. But when drummers hit the shells they do so with random velocity I think what your hearing is he could have backed off the amount of processing a little. Just adjust the min/max of the LFO tool

Remeber to uncheck stereo and switch to LR, otherwise the noise generated by the vocoder will be way too wide

The answer is Re-Enveloper. Your right though there is a lack of hi hat MIx videos when using sampled hats and not drum stems. Everything is all movement and velocities
