I love that you showed a comparison between a 65mm photo lens and a 65mm anamorphic. It's something a lot of other reviews missed when I was first learning about anamorphics a while back. It's such a simple way to show newer cinematographers and videographers what they can expect when shopping for anamorphics! Loved the storytelling in your intro as well Victor!

Man the anamorphic lenses give the video a whole new vibe, those Laowa lenses are still kinda expensive, but definitely worth the investment for filming with the a6700

I loooove the look of the 1.5x on these but ya totally understand! I think so far it's the cheapest 1.5x and tiniest on the market but I have no doubt that more products in the future will be more affordable!

It’s super35 apsc but can easily do full frame at 1.1x crop! So good!! The a7cii and the a6700 definitely hard to pick which one.. I’m in that position myself!! 😭😭

Great VDO as expected. I really enjoy it from 1st second to the end. I find the part where you mentioned about static shot vs social media epic b-roll transition really interesting. I am into those b-roll stuffs but ever since I started shooting with Camera more and more I find myself prefer the movie look more and more too. However, it is not so simple. The fact that the shot is simple and static make it harder to compose or to make it looks interesting while good broll transition makes the vdo looks more interesting with different feels to it. I have a Hongkong and Japan trips coming up soon so I will give your approach (the movie approach) a try. Without Anamorphic lens I hope I achieve some viewable result. Finally, like you said I find filimg VDO for the trip a lot more enjoyable and provide me a longer lasting memory. Replaying the vdo certainly brings back memory better than just still pictures.

Very well put! Making a static shot requires more thought in terms of composition and content. Epic broll has its place and it does work for social media but movie like shots are just so different! Excited for your Hong Kong and Japan trip ! It’ll be amazing with this approach!

A7CII AND A7RC released and its save to say the a6700 have those beat for value and price to performance ratio! will stick with an a6700/fx30 for serious video work and get the a7cr for pro photo work later down the line.

Hi everyone, im a new sony user from canon, Got my 6700. Ques; anybody knows why sony doesnt have the continuous auto focus when the photo timer is on? the AF-C wont work which i rely on 90% of the time as a solo content creator taking my own moving street photos using my tripod. Its only set on AF-A & results to me being blurred as the subject and the background is sharp when i do walking shots. Is this really sony's feature? How to fix this? Thanks a lot

not sure how to fix it tbh.. I would try to use the sony app that way you get a feed of the frame and remotely focus / click the shutter

Thank you! I enjoy making these vids!! I have the fx3 and shooting in ProRes raw is nice for my professional work but I like the file sizes of the 10 bit internal codecs of the fx3. Still have great image quality!
