Wow! Nice Biscuits. I use to live in Rome from 2000-2014. I was a home health nurse out of the Cedartown office for Floyd. I use to go down Collard Valley Rd. almost every day. First thing I learned to make when I moved to Georgia was biscuits and sweet tea. My son married a girl from Rome in 2000. I miss it a lot but I also love Louisiana and the food. 😀

When we were poorest, with 3 small kids, no working stove, just a camp stove and an electric skillet, we shopped at Aldi's and I bought powdered milk, shortening and self rising flour. I made 5 lbs of baking mix with a pie cutter and a large Tupperware box. We are a lot of pancakes that year!

Hi, I have just now got down how to make biscuits like I love them with the rolled method like you showed. I am trying to figure out something. My biscuits seem to be better if I smush the lard in the buttermilk in the well of flour in bowl, and then bring in the flour. In this mix the mix is shortening with flour and then the buttermilk. What is the difference?
