After Elon Musk sold out of Boring Flamethrowers (from the Boring Company), we decided we had to build our own! It's pretty simple. We used a propane weed burner with a 1lb propane tank, a 12V solenoid valve, and a 10,000V spark gap generator. Slapped it inside the shell of a Nerf and gave it a coat of paint!

I think you need to just move your sparker forward slightly (past the air vents). Right now it looks like it is in the pure propane region, (ie prior to air intakes). That is why u have to goose it a little because shooting some propane and waiting allows the system to drop positive pressure and allows a little oxygen back to the sparker which ignites and then u shoot again to hold the flame. (this is conjecture)

extend the igniter out the the very end of the muzzle, and cover the vents at the base. this will prevent the air from mixing properly and cause a longer more chaotic flame.

u should use the Rev trigger to switch on the electric ignitor and the main trigger connected to a solenoid to control the flow of propane so that when you pull the trigger more,more propane flows out

hey hack smith ! big fan of your projects i had a cool idea for a bonus to your flame thrower. im sure you know certain elements burn different colors, by attaching an electric feeder like paintball hoppers can have and having multiple small containers with different burn colors you could make a color switching flamethrower! sounds pretty damn cool to me! call it the flamebowthower haha!
