It's a good idea! 👍 Here's another reason, back in the late 90s, a friend's band released a CD. A couple of years ago, I bought it for a dollar at an Op-Shop! So that band, short lived as it was, lives on in my music collection! 🙂 My band recorded earlier, so we had to release cassettes, as burning your own CDs wasn't an option back then. One day, about 5 or 6 years ago, I got in the car, tuned to the independent radio station, and one of our songs was playing! A DJ had gone through the archives looking for old, unknown music for his show, found our tape, and played Smokin' Lightning! I couldn't believe it, I don't even have a copy!

That's awesome!!! Yeah, my first original band was making demos in an 8 track studio back in 84, and it was mixed down to cassette. I do still have copies, but they're like 3rd generation. Today's newbies don't know how great they have it!

@@drakocapone2741 The minimum order for CDs from Disk Makers used to be 20. So you could get them to make 20 copies of your CD (burning, printing, shrinkwrapping.). He's saying that the minimum order is now 100, which I believe. The rich guys who own businesses need to make as much money as possible. That's why I burn my own!

I rather go with bison disc. 25 is there min, and i been dealing with them for about 4 years now and never had a problem with there cds.

You could print the CD a little closer to the middle also ? I guess this is the Dye ink that will smudge as soon as it comes in contact with water ?

I've done a few both ways, but... After. I mean, the ink is dry and all, but I don't think there's anything to be gained by printing first. The CD Burner is going to be spinning at much faster speeds than a regular CD player, and even though the ink is dry and you "can" print first, I wouldn't want the ink to get smudged or scratched. It probably doesn't matter, but why take a chance?

Ive bought one of these printers and I can not for the life of me get the sodding thing to print best quality onto cd. The print quality selection on the Epson photo + app is permanently greyed out. Does anyone have any ideas, it's driving me insane!

Leaving a comment to get you in the algorithm, however I do have a question. I don't like streaming services, and I want to convert my KZbin music playlist to physical disks. Can I do this like that? I do not plan on selling or distributing them! I only want them to play my music in my car.

Yes, it is possible. There are programs you can download that will let you capture the audio from any KZbin video in aiff or wav format. Once you have the files, you'd burn the CD. From a copyright standpoint, this is probably not OK, which is why I won't name the specific programs, but if you Google "capture audio from KZbin videos" you'll find them OK. They won't be super high quality audio, but it will work.

Yes - I downloaded the software for this printer from the Epson website, and I think there was a glossy setting. I might be misremembering, though, because that was a year ago. You might need to do a few (trial and error) to see which settings work best.

Nope - with the right printer and blank CD, you can print directly onto the CD.

Is it possible to burn a CD at home and have a correct information (metadata) attached to the recording? I tried several different methods/tools and there is a problem with the Properties that are showing up on the CD when it is being played with the PC software. It is information of some other random CD. Does anyone know how to deal with this? How to have correct metadata get baked into the CD? Thanks in advance!

I just use iTunes on an old Mac. I'm not honestly sure what it shows on a Windows machine, because I don't have any computers with CD drives. I'm not much help on this question, unfortunately...

You can edit the metadata in the burning program itself, as far as I know. At least that was the case in Nero Burning Rom. You could go into each file individually before burning and add the information that you need like year, artist, song no. Is that what you mean?

I turned here hoping that I would be told what type of CD recorder machine I could use to burn CDs on at a live show , in other words , burning the live concert on a cd while the concert is on performing,it right on the CD as the show is going on what type of machine do I need for that

I doubt that you'll be able to find a live CD recorder, but a laptop with a CD burner is actually better. You record your live show into a DAW on the laptop, and then normalize the recording. Then you burn it to CD on the laptop. That way you can burn as many copies as you want. If you have a laptop with no burner, you can buy a cheap USB or USB-C burner for under $50.

A cassette recorder would Record the show as it is going on directly on a cassette but what type of CD recorder is there on the market that I can record on a CD while something is being recorded

After a few years the picture on these CDrs will be blurry and faded. Also these CDrs are not even close to the quality of factory replicated CDs. There's no such option on mac (iTunes) to burn CD-DA out of WAV files, you can burn only out of mp3 which is a terrible idea. The only good thing about this video is that it shows how you should not make your CDs.

No, no, no. I have CDs I printed 18 years ago that still look wonderful. And the sound quality is identical to mass market CDs. I've actually done this before.

It's ALL about the printer, and that printer does work with Windows 11. The trick is the software. I use Photoshop, which is available for Windows, but it's not cheap.
