From your words to the algorithms ears haha!! My other one has hit 30K but I don’t know why. I only had like 30 subs when that one took off. I never expected anything like that.

@@BuildMontage Nice! It's a combination of the clickthrugh rate in combination with watchtime and how many videos the unique viewers watched after thet ( session duration). I know the metrics but no idea how to trigger them LOL 🤣. If you continue I bet you will be at 5k subs in 2 months, 10 in three!
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 4 жыл бұрын
I don’t know. I analyse the data, and try to apply the right things but you just don’t know what people will like and what will trigger it. I’d love to grow the channel but it’s hard to get subs when you have low sub count. I spend way too much time on the analytics and messing around with thumbnails lol!

@@BuildMontage Hahah know the feeling. Hey, you gained 300 subs in week or so. That's great. The last time this happened to me was it when I uploaded my The Flash video where I predicted that Barry or a time remnant of him is Savitar. Now I struggle to gain more then 2 to 3 subs per video. But It might be that i made to much Star Trek themed videos and the audience is different. Now I'm at the crossroads: either I start to do more other videos ( Flash, The Expanse, some Trek and movie and tv show news) or I completely change my content. I'm right now working on another channel witch will be SpaceX and rocket technology based.
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 4 жыл бұрын
Oh yes, that would have been a great prediction as I didn't see that coming at all. I think it's difficult once you niche down, it kind of traps you with the audience that subbed to you. When I started this channel, it was always going to be "tech" related, but I started with my PC Building videos which did ok for the first couple of videos, but when I made my home theater tour and it blew up - at the time I had about 30 subscribers and it took off, so I kind of felt I had to keep making home theater videos which was always part of the plan, but I wanted my channel to be broader about "technology", so I'm unsure where I am going to end up. I have heaps more content planned in the home theater series, but not sure how far I can push it. What is your other channel? Do you have a link. Maybe I can add both of them on my featured channels list - I don't have any so far.

I like the idea of plain black panels in the theater, I want to avoid anything shinny or distracting, all the movie posters can go in the lobby area outside the theater along with the wet bar, popcorn machine etc. Btw, another way to attache fabric is to cut a groove into the frame and then use screen spline to hold the fabric in place instead of staples. As you press the spline into the groove it helps to tighten the fabric.
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 4 жыл бұрын
Hey that is a great idea!! The only issue is that it may be a little narrow to get a router to cut the groove unless you use a wider piece. I'm also going back to plain black for my theater - im repurposing these to my study in preference for plain black - but this was a fun project to do.

I’ve heard the simplest way to determine if a fabric is acoustically transparent is to hold it up to the light and see if light shines through. May I ask how you determined your choice from the swatches was Acoustic Transparent fabric? Are you still confident they are transparent after the printing has been done? This sounds like a brilliant idea but just worried that the printing ink would block some of the sound…. Thanks very much! Really enjoying your videos!! !

I totally agree with the difference in sound. I just put mine up also and It made a huge difference. I almost can't believe how much of a difference it made. My panels are 16x48. So I get in the middle of my room and clap my hands no echo clap my hands near a carpeted floor and no echo clap my hands close to ceiling echo so I need to add 2 more panels on my ceiling but then I will be done with my room treatment.

@@BuildMontage You might be surprised on how small changes can make a big difference. I also wanted to add that if you can either use another stand for your center channel speaker. Or you can pull it forward so the front baffle is in line with the front of the cabinet it's on. This will eliminate the early reflection you will have on the surface right below the speaker. Small position and placement changes of even a few millimeters can make a difference.
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 4 жыл бұрын
Dat Nguyen I did notice that. Someone else recommended I try a 45 degree toe in which I was dubious about but I tried it last night and it was insane how much of a difference it made. Goes to show as you say, small changes can make a big difference. I’ll definitely try your suggestion of the centre speaker but I’m thinking even to maybe sell it and buy a single rp150m to replace it with as well or go in walls it all depends I guess :) Thanks again for the advice.
@nonametofame
@nonametofame 4 жыл бұрын
@@BuildMontage Or you can put one of your two rp150ms to use in place as a center now and just see how that sounds. It should at least give you an idea of how the dialogue sounds before you commit to buy.

Now I watched to the end :). I also watched the other video where I mentioned the echo side by side and you can really hear the difference. Can't wait for the diffuser video, maybe some corner base traps for the future as a video idea ;). But I don't know if you would want a base trap in a home theater. I bet when you finish the room treatment I bet the difference will be even higher. Also thanks for the movie poster resource, I will definitely use it for my future panels. On another note: Love Brooklyn 99, The Star Trek Into Darkness poster is one of the nicest ones that came out of the JJ Trek, I have some mixed feelings about JJ Star Wars, but the movies were still epic ;), actually the JJ Wars was ok, the Rian Johnson one was so so. By the way: Did you do your channel art or did you commission someone to make it?

Always look forward to reading your comments :) The panels made a big difference, but I plan on doing more plain ones to improve it even further. I’m considering bass traps for corners but they look ugly haha! Diffuser video is in production now, so hopefully soon it will be done. Yes, that poster of the Enterprise crashing was a good one, it reminded me of Generations, which was one of my favourite movies. And in answer to your question, i commissioned my logo, I did sketches but I wanted a polished result to I hired someone to help me finish it. I did it almost two years ago, but only just used it in late Jan when I launched the channel. As always thanks for commenting!!

Howdy Dean, I stupidly omitted it from the video and I threw the packaging out. I do recall it was "acoustic" grade insulation but that's all I remember.
