You can buy a fully soldered and assembled dual switch for like 25 USD online but its a really cool thing to make because its relatively easy circuitry. I’m thinking about Frankenstein-ing a few. dual switches together into a larger pedal for my fractal rig. might just start with some premade ones though. That pedal looks supurb tho and i wouldn’t be surprised if its better quality parts than the cheap ones online,

Have you made a video for a three button foot switch I discovered buying one yesterday. This works best for my Beatbuddy Thank You
@matthannah13809 ай бұрын
Hey Matt! Thanks so much for I made one! Only thing is, only one of the switches is working. Are you using a balanced lead (2 rings)? What have I done wrong?
@mathew_dale9 ай бұрын
Could be what you are plugging in to- maybe it only accepts one switch in the jack. Yes, I use TRS cables when using this switch.

Does it work on roland amps??

I wanted to ask a slightly different question, as it seems like you probably know much more about this than me. Let's say I Iove the sound produced by a Boss Delay pedal, when I strum and actively turn the knob for weird effect. Now I can do this on a table, but I have to on/off the effect with my hand. Let's say we still want the foot engage, while keeping the knob/unit close to hands. I know that a Bypass Looper is a device that could make this possible, but it does great add to the amount of cables and complexity needed, rather than just a simple external momentary switch for that effect. Is it possible to drill in a new TS jack on the Boss Pedal, wire it to the lugs of the existing momentary switch, and use a TS cable to a custom (existing) momentary switch pedal? Essentially just giving a single pedal an extra external engage switch..
@mathew_dale Жыл бұрын
I believe it should be possible. Check into some of the true bypass mods for boss pedals out there to see how they wire it, only sub in the momentary switch for a latching one and sub in a jack in place of the switch that would replace the boss switch. Keeley and JHS both did TB mods on boss pedals earlier in their careers. Don't know how this would react with spillover though (guessing there would be none). Alternatively, if it's a pedal that has a "tap/exp" jack just flip things around, keep the pedal on the floor and make a remote device that would be an expression pedal (just a potentiometer) on a knob instead of a foot pedal. Then you can assign the exp. to the delay time and control it that way.

Love your video! Can this footswich work on zoom ms-50g? and how to make it connecting with usb port?
@mathew_dale Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Not sure about the Zoom or connecting it with USB, TRS is an analog connection, USB is a digital one which is a whole other ball game.

I'm going to ask the same question another guy did to get your attention.... Does it work on Roland amps? In fact does it work directly with any kind of guitar amp? .... and thanks for a great video :)
@mathew_dale Жыл бұрын
Really depends on the Roland amp and usage, but as a rule-of-thumb any Roland product that would be using an FS-5 or FS-6 in momentary mode could use this foot switch instead.

Anyone know what size drill bit to use for the switch and socket holes ? I have all the parts but I’d rather not guess on the size of the drill bits to use.

I show the bit sizes at 3:10 1/2” and 3/8”

Is this the same thing as the fs7 boss foot switch?
@uncanalmenorАй бұрын
Not really. FS7 lets you select if it the buttons act as a latch or are just momentary. Also it lets you choose if the circuit is normally closed or normally open. Boss pedals like the Rc1 looper use normally closed switches. The build in this video uses normally open switches that are by far more common. Find normally closed switches or use a relay to make it work with boss pedals.

I would think so. It's basically the same thing as their dual foot switch.

"make your own pedal case". you bought the footswitch and soder it inside the case.
@mathew_dale Жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand the gripe. Essentially the same thing Boss does with the FS-6. This is pretty much the same pedal. All in all, I guess you could try to use the switches without the wire, jack, and enclosure.
