How fun. I've made breadcrumbs before but never Panko. Very cool and also, something that can be made in air fryer (depending on the fan), sometimes, the crumbs will blow all around like a crazy storm.

Thank you so much! When I don't have panko I replace it with dehydrated potato "powder" (the one to make instant mashed potato). It's delicious! And if someone has gluten intolerance it's a good option... Once again thank you, kisses and hugs from Argentina!

Can I use herbs and seasoning for these bread crumbs?
@ChefJana4 жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely! That’s genius! 😉✌️😘

Add seasoning afterwards.
@miriamschiro23543 жыл бұрын
@@dodgedabullet670 nah it won’t stick. My sister loves making croutons and she taught me how to make breadcrumbs with her dehydrator. She use to not season it at 1st but then she got into making croutons and so she tried different ways of seasoning them; to season it afterwards she doesn’t recommend because it doesn’t stick too well She cut up her bread by hand into small squares (crouton size) then she places 1 and a half tbsp of butter or olive oil spreaded in a pan let it get hot and stir in your bread cubes . Soon as the croutons are covered well with the oil or butter season them while in the pan and stir cook until you feel the croutons incorporated the seasoning flavor you want it to have then she place in her dehydrator and voila! You can leave as is for croutons or you can crumble them up for bread crumbs then place them in a ziplock bag and place in freezer. She actually place paper towel or parchment ppr in her ziplock bag b4 putting in the crumbs. (Not sure the reasoning behind that never asked her lol) If you do not hava dehydrator you can just stick it in the oven like Jana is teaching AFTER cooking them in the pan with the seasoning

Actually here in America NOW it’s the same price as making it yourself because they raised the price of bread so high 🤦🏽♀️ but nevertheless is still more with it to make your own

Hi Jana, would using stale white bread work?? How long will this keep?? I made some breaded chicken cutlets yesterday using store bought Panko and I loved the way they came out because of the Panko. It is expensive and you get just enough for 4 cutlets. I won't spend the crazy price for this again when I can make my own and as much as I want. The amount you get in the store bought Container is not worth the price. I think Panko is so much better than regular breadcrumbs. I can also add any spice or cheeses as well. Thank you so much Jana. Have a GOD FILLED DAY... FROM CANTON GEORGIA. Coconut shrimp made with Panko is crazy GOOD.

QUESTION can I add Italian seasoning to it when it's in the oven?.when I'm making a lot of this. and can it be stored in a large zip lock bag?. I learned a little trick for storing Romaine lettuce, put paper towels in a large plastic container add lettuce put another sheet on top., and put it up side down 👇 in the fridge, I think I will do this the same way with the panko.for freshness.

My sister use a dehydrator to make her bread crumbs. She cut her bread slices into little squares then place in the dehydrator for a very short time then she crush them for breadcrumbs or leave as is for croutons and she also place in a ziplock bag and into her fridge

The original Panko crumbs are from Japan and made from rice. You can still get these in some grocers - just look for the gluten free version. The rice Panko is amazing! So much better than the wheat based off-shoot.
@HollyChristine2 жыл бұрын
The original panko is made with electrified bread. This isnt the same as panko, but it looks like good bread crumbs.
@TravelClast Жыл бұрын
Thats fun, but Panko is actually made by cooking the bread with electricity, which results in a crustless bread cooked from the inside out. That's what makes it different from conventional breadcrumb.

Your recepies are so tasty & Your combinations of ingrediants so great! Forgive me to say: 'Please!' my Dear, ALU should be banned in every kitchen, every home! Be it a foil, a pot... (or even in a deo). P L E A S E no recommandation to use alu for the oven... I#m so happy that You talked about only, but used a silicon mat. So many people are looking at Your videos, doing everythink like You do. Alu can go first into the food & in the body even strait into the brain & Alzheimer says hello after many years of the habit to use alu now & then, but regularly. I love Your recepies! I really do! Love Your way of making Your videos with so much taste, not tasty only! Please don't get me wrong, if You don't use it - many will not use it to. Thank You for all Your bright ideas which are making my daily cooking fun!
