Wow! Thanks Mr Sawdust! I’ve now made an incredible door stop! I can now stop any door thanks to your absolutely stellar tutorial!

LMAO “installing the doorstop is super simple so I’m not gonna go over that” BRO THATS THE ONLY REASON I’M HERE 💀💀💀😂

Sorry! You can miter the top corners if you want but sometimes I install the top piece first and run the sides up to it with a butt joint. Doesn't look quite as nice that way but you hardly notice. I would add maybe a 1/16 of an inch (or less) to the thickness of the door and install the moulding that far back from the edge of the jamb. Hope that helps and thank you for watching!

thanks for the video’ After much research I’m doing it like this but 1/2” thick seems to be the new norm over 3/8”

Thanks for watching! 1/2 inch seems thick to me but that’s just an opinion.

@@MakingSawdust it actually looks pretty normal I was skeptical 😂 my cheap builder grade doors left to much of a gap around interior doors so 3/8” stop let light through’ 1/2” did the trick

@@joshymcdaniel9233 That makes sense. Thanks for the follow up!

Hey thanks for the tip. How many 8ft strips of moulding can you make from the 2x4?
@MakingSawdust2 жыл бұрын
I would say about 10 if you have a straight clean 2x4 free of knots. It takes me forever to pick through a stack of lumber 🤣. Thanks for watching!

3/8” x 1 1/4” >>> just what I was looking for thank you. It would’ve been cool to see the installation but maybe you could do another video for that one day.

No riving knife
@MakingSawdust3 жыл бұрын
Very true. I have never used one. I've become used to feeling the board pass through the blade, and I know when there is going to be a problem. That said, if I had a table saw with a riving knife already I don't think I would take it off. Thanks for watching!
