Thanks Don for taking the time to pass along the lost art of beekeeping. I also like this camera angle better, not because I can't see your mug, I can see what your working on.

sound and trusted advice , saved me countless dollars. but since I'm just starting out Queen rearing it's the cost of a 100 pack bag :) Plastic sucks anyways! Thanks Don.

I use a homemade beeswax candle to drop wax to glue the cup to the frame because I don't one of those fancy basters.

Hey Don, I'm looking for a recommendation on the hot plate you use. I've looked at several on line for $10-$15. I just want to make sure I get one with a range of temps, and not settings like low, medium, or high. Does yours shown here have adjustable temps? Will one of the $10 ones be good enough? I am looking for the same purpose you have, of just keeping a pot of wax hot. Thanks.

Question for ya. In the stead of using the turkey baster what do you think about using a small paint brush to dip in the wax and "paint" around the cups? Seems like it might be a bit easier and you can go back and add more wax if you need. Just a thought.

Hey young man; Thanks for your efforts and about keeping the art of the old! In the video on your hot plate you have 3/4 inc water - how much wax is then added? Best; Tom

My bee keeping plan is about this basic sir. I have leased some farm land in Southeast Asia. I want these pollination machines on sight. My staff are relatively ignorant, 2/3 our height and 1/5 our mass. I think the local Apis Cerana and Tetragonula Biroi will do. A Cerana seems to be plentiful, resistant to varroa and gentile. My question, is it possible to set these cells up in a way that the queen will lay them up herself? I intend to teach my staff how to graft at some point but as they are mostly illiterate, ignorant, superstitious and scared of the dark, how do I get the queen to do the depositing? As always, thank you sir.

Instead of the turkey baster I take an old teaspoon and bend a spout on it with a pair of pliers and it is much easier to control!!

Can you tell me if the male bee has no father because he is an unfertlised egg does he carry the gens of his mother or does he go back to his grandparents gens? Because a drone has no father and no sons it only has daughters and grandparents!!!!
