Always love your videos, you spend so much effort in helping others, don't know where you find the time. Just show your passion, I would have said your love but she is always behind the camera!! Here in N.E. Texas Beetles play havock on our hives.

Six days ago I did my first ever graft, checked them today after live streaming Church services to my folks, and I have 17 out of 30 cells. I praise the Lord for a first try and getting seven more that I hoped I would achieve. Keep teaching us your labors are paying off. Blessings!

Every time I go to Dadant the staff is always talking good about. On the first receipt I got from buying a hive they made sure to write your name down so I could watch your KZbin! Thank you so much for your videos, this is my first year beekeeping and this information has been helpful. I have already went back to Dadant 3 times, with an open wallet - couldn’t stop at buying one hive. Take care and hope you keep this channel going!

Kamon, I’m taking this all in but an old nervous, almost blind man like me would probably stick the grafting tool though my other hand or go after one larvae and get one from a capped cell. Thanks for the video!

Perhaps we can get the next series going soon on graftless queen rearing and hopefully that works well. Going to take a second to get it setup but it would be fun and educational!
@SergeantMajorH4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, emergency queen response works great. Throw a frame of brood and young larvae into a 5 frame nuc with nurse bees and in less than 24 hours they have already started new queen cells. Really simple if you need to queenright only one or two hives. They'll make easily 5-10 queen cells on one frame. You can also cut those queens out from that hive of 5-10 queen cells before one hatches and kills all the other queens, and put that peanut onto another queenless hive's frame and there you have it. Good luck.
@myrlstone89044 жыл бұрын
Don, check out the Nicot system in that case . Follow the included directions to a “T” and you should have good luck. Actually that goes for the complete process - a string of simple but each very important steps which must follow a strict time schedule. Kit is a bit pricey but you can find knockoffs on Amazon. If you go that route and the system works for you, invest in the Nicot.

It's 2021 when I found this video, this year I am going to graft some so I can get some of my own queens. I first had Bees back in the mid-80s & never wanted to graft until now. So thank you for giving me some great ideas on getting started. I have made several Mini Nucs & a friend who has had Bees for many many years gave me his styrofoam Mini Nucs. I also so several Queen Castels ready to go, hello Spring.
