You should use the clear silicone caulk instead; it's pure silicone, far superior and the same price (sometimes cheaper). Still, you got a great impression with that item you were molding👍.

In which ratio , you used silicone and cornstarch
@sadriski Жыл бұрын
Looks pretty straight forward. But just in case, are there any measurements for reference?
@ShatteredGlass9167 ай бұрын
There's really no need i think. Just use as much as you want, the flour is to prevent the silicone to stick everywhere. I used to do this, but i used the clear one. And i wet the silicone caulk just enough to be active, then knead it with some cheap starch.

With this method is it safe to use it for polymer clay and baking it in the oven after?
@ela1468 Жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing too, hopefully they reply
@ashchan30 Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't suggest baking...baking hardens polymer...so the mold wouldn't be malleable or easily moveable in order to remove it from the object. It may crumble. Just my guess. Not sure tho

What you use
@skateboardingjesus4006 Жыл бұрын
@@ashchan30 You can actually bake polymer clay in open silicone slump-molds, but don't use the kind of silicone in this video, because it's a poor material for the job. Use the clear stuff, which is all silicone. Always let the baked polymer clay cool down in the mold and then take it out. You can achieve some excellent results, because proper silicone can handle oven temperatures easily.
