I’ve got all the parts, on your video you have used a 1uf 63v capacitor however on the link it’s a 1uf 50v. Does it matter between the Voltage?

You can use less than 50V capacitor, because this circuit is operating with 3V or 9V.

I built it myself 4 years ago and it doesn't work. I got all the components and a nice circuit board but I guess it needs some firmware to program the microcontroller, but it is never mentioned in the video. And also I am sure that this 8-bit microcontroller doesn't record in any audio format for computer (mp3, aac, flac...), so it probably only can be played on this contraption.

@@NoobKeksTV 16F690 has no any special audio dedicated hardware like 16bit ADC,DAC,MP3 engine - it has only basic 10bit ADC and PWM output. You can convert PWM output to voltage (DAC) with only a few passive components. But as You can hear, the audio quality is very limited! The first limiter is the recording itself at 10bit resolution, and the playback is limited by the low clock speed and timer hardware of this 8bit MCU. You can achieve a bit better quality with a 24/32bit MCU on much higher clock speed, but it will be still limited somewhere around 12-14bit resolution at 20-40KHz in mono - much worst than the CD audio standard... I thinking there is no any compression on the audio itself, audio format is RAW or simple WAVE (RAW+header information)...
