Manor Lords continues and Lord Betty finally has a place to call her own as we build our very own Manor House! We've lived up to the name of the game!
It's a nice place indeed, with a lovely residential building, a fancy tower, a guard tower, walls and a gate, although for some reason we can't walk through the gate and the villagers can walk through the walls... but never mind! It's a house, yyaayy!
There's also a bit of a revolution in the village of Cupboardia itself as we get some gigantic vegetable plots set up to provide a great deal of food and then replace the smaller vegetable plots with some artisan buildings. We try to get people in Cupboardia suited and booted plus we try to make our own ale! But where will we be drinking this ale? In our very first tavern of course!
Also we get another village improvement point, our church is finally upgraded and we have another fight with some pesky bandit types!

Manor Lords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a medieval lord. Grow your starting village into a bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest.
Inspired by the art and architecture of late 14th century Franconia, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy wherever possible, using it to inform gameplay mechanics and visuals alike. Common medieval tropes are avoided in favor of historical accuracy, in order to make the world feel more authentic, colorful, and believable.
Manor Lords provides a gridless city-building experience with full freedom of placement and rotation. Building mechanics are inspired by the growth of real medieval towns and villages, where major trade routes and the landscape influenced how settlements shaped and developed.
Spreading outward from a central marketplace, build your residential, commercial, and industrial districts following the natural lay of the land. Establish farms based on soil fertility, position hunting grounds according to animal populations, and ensure access to adequate resource deposits and forests to provide the raw materials needed for growth.
Assign areas for housing and watch your residents build their homes in accordance with the historical burgage plot system. Each region will be subdivided based on your roads and the allotted space, and homes will scale accordingly.
From boots to barley and hides to honey, Manor Lords features a great variety of goods fitting of the era. Materials need to be transported and processed into finished products through production chains, and you must balance the basic needs of your people against the desire to produce luxury items to ensure happiness, manufacture trade goods for export, or forge arms and armor to aid in your conquests.
Resources are littered across the map, encouraging you to expand and establish multiple specialized settlements. Extract valuable ores from your mining colonies, while villages devoted to agriculture, herding, or hunting supply the grains and meats needed to feed your growing population.
Train a retinue of skilled warriors to fight battles alongside the levies you raise from the town militia. At times these soldiers will be needed to crush rebellions or suppress banditry, and at other times you will lead your men into battle to conquer or defend territory. When needed, mercenaries are a costly option to bolster your ranks.
A robust diplomacy system will allow you to communicate with other lords, using influence or threats to sway their actions. These competing lords have their own goals and will seek you out as well, and your response to their offers or insults can mean the difference between war and peace.

Apparently everyone loves this game lol. It does have quite a learning curve with all the various “bits & bobs”. Most important just have fun it’s a game and a great one at that. Also it’s a good idea to get some sheep in a pasture. They will also help fertilize your fields to grow better things and produce wool.

You speak of cobbler, meaning a maker of shoes. But now I want cobbler, meaning a delicious dessert treat with various fruits. Preferably peaches. I live near Weatherford Texas, which is famous for its peaches. Parker County peaches are best peaches. I shouldn't watch KZbin videos when I'm hungry. lol

So now you have a retinue, Penge. Five skilled fighters, readily armed, who live in your mansion. You can call them like you do your militia. Also, if you ever hire mercenaries, be careful of where they arrive. Not all of them spawn in Cupboardia, they might have to cross the whole map in order to help you.

Trading: Export means you will sell goods until you get down to a set amount of goods. Then trading ceases until you get more of those goods to sell. So, I get my artisans to produce extra things that my town doesn't need (extra clothing, weapons, armour etc) and just sell them (I don't keep any so set to zero). Full trade means you buy and sell a good to maintain a set number. For example, in my town I do a full trade on food to make sure I always have enough of each food type for each house (some of which I don't produce), and any extra food I make gets sold. When I don't have enough from my own production, I buy in more. This keeps my people 100% satisfied.

As far as I know, tools don't do anything at all in the game yet. So you might as well export them all and make money out of them. Also, if you click (or hover over?) the (?) on the market tab, you can see what houses get what goods, in terms of food, fuel and clothing. It's better not to build houses too far from the market.

There is a problem with the fields. At the start, the land is fertile. When you check later, the land is trash and you didn't even make a field yet. Anyone know why? Good vid.

You were less effective than the brigands in the battle as they had the high ground, you want to be uphill and charge down in a battle for max effectiveness
