Seriously man, it takes talent and willpower along with knowledge…. I give my professional information away free as well and after 30 years have yet to have a single soul get near my job… if you are afraid that teaching will cost you your job then you aren’t as good as you think, and even if you are there’s plenty to go around, in case you missed it the world is lacking skilled trades as youngsters haven’t learned them in quite a long time now and the old guys are retired or will soon… Teach every young person you can bro, being a master isn’t complete until you have taught a few your trade…. ✌️

Sharing knowledge is what we need more of. Help each other save the cars. There is no shortage of work in this industry, just a shortage of people with skills, and it is basically impossible to get formal schooling on this.

Heh, the knowledge is valuable but for better or worse there’s still a ton of work involved. Not to mention I think it might take me a few tries to get the techniques to work like they do in the videos.

NICE! Back in my day we didn't have CAD programs or CNC plasma tables. Great music once again. I have found in the past that when one has a plan and attempts to implement it as it was thought and written down, there are always things and ideas that crop up and you go" Hey, that's a great Idea and it would look so cool"! this is where a five hour job turns into a fifty hour job, but it feel good and it feels right. I LOVE Clecos! Without the holes in the braces the Tig will tens to arc in the hole and not touch the brace very much, which will lead to broken welds later on and then you get some nasty road rattle that you have to fix else it drives you crazy. Super job on the welding. I wish I could weld that fast, I might have made some money at this game. Like my old friend Bill used to say, "have a plan, but you can change it as you go, It's an organic process". He would've like you Karl, but he's been gone now these last 6 years.

@serdaraytemiz99783 жыл бұрын
Awesome work. 2 things you might want to check is the order you do the welding. I noticed you just started on one side and finished on the other. It is always a good practice to distribute the load you are putting on the metal. It will definately increase your work time on it. second is you need to keep the inert gas on the weld pool longer ager disengaging the torch. It helps cool the weld better and shields it against corrosion. In the end it does not really matter as this looks magnificent.

I discovered single sided Tig spot weld last year. Game changer!! So much quicker and more consistent than plug welding. No clean up, and attractive. Bombproof welds. Settings I use for 1mm on 1mm: Tig pulse, 1 pulse per second Max amps 96 Can’t remember the other settings. I press the button for 6 pulses and it’s perfect every time. Contact between the two surfaces has to be good. And it cannot work if using weld through primer. Have experimented and welded 2mm on 2mm with higher amperage. Seriously. Try it. You’ll never go back to plug welding with Mig or Tig.

I was trained through hole welding. I can't remember the hole size but I know it was a heck of a lot larger than 1/8". Probably 3/8". He was so particular that it had to have the little silicon dot right in the middle to pass quality. All on MIG back then. It was valuable training. Screw up and cut clean through a spot weld. Not an issue.

Great to hear the tip about tig or mig welding through the holes of the cleco fasteners. I bought a bunch of Clecos over 30 years ago and finally started using them putting a new floor in my 55 chevy wagon. The hard part is making sure everything is aligned before I start welding making sure every braket is aligned just right. You do impeccable work and knowing what you do takes a long time. Time lapes makes it look alot quicker. To bad you couldn't put a time clock in the corner of the shot to show how long it really takes.

Nice clean work. How about a workshop tour . Want to look at your metal break . Looks like a good asset .

He's got one. Dig around a bit, it shouldn't be hard to find.
