Bands that play live to a click get some flak for it but I'd take playing to a click any day over dealing with most of my previous drummers who keep raising the bpm faster than Alex does in this cover

I cannot get over your vocals in this! There's some really good shit at 0:38-ish. The throaty bits are absolute perfection. I mean all of it is, but that literally gave me chills. I've said it before but normally i'm not at all into pop-punk and emo etc but something about the way you play and sing makes it immensely listenable.

I feel like it'd be annoying to make a song with a tempo or key change so doing one like this has to be the most time consuming
@tphelps862 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. I'm sitting trying to think if there was some kind of lead in to the new tempo in his ears, or if it was just like 160 to 163 on the spot and he just had to adjust really quickly.
@xbrandon2 жыл бұрын
@@chase152 in regards to temp or KEY change...woo boy. Related to the "worship band is really into emo" stuff. I haven't played at church in a while but I can say they are not afraid of a key change. There was one song I think 'you are good'...so many key changes. Thankfully it was just a half step each time IIRC.

149-152 BPM sounded perfect, like when I saw them live in Stockholm, Sweden. The end of the concert was magical. Adam walk down into the audience and walked to the very back still singing with a wired mic! (Sure, the venue is small but still!) There he jumped up on the bar counter and chugged a beer between verses right next to me. Got a few blurry photos but the memory remains sharp. Flicker flicker fade next?

These "getting faster" covers are cool as a demonstration of skill but they don't make good listening tracks. And... now that you've covered this amazing song (one of my favorite Taking Back Sunday songs), I'm afraid you won't ever cover it normally again so we'll never get an Alex Melton covers MakeDamnSure. Alex, if you're reading this, please cover it normally! I already bought your discography pack a while ago but I'll buy more :o
