Its almost time to demo my house in Upstate NY! Before we do, Mack and I went up and took out all of the existing windows and some of the electrical cable. It was a productive day, and now the house is on the schedule for knock down! Stay tuned for that!

I see you had a special guest star helping! Crazy how the section of the foundation just caved in. Another step forward on the demolition completed! Shame how much $ was wasted on the house.

That's sad. The brother's must have gone broke. But a great opportunity to get some awesome materials.

Glass is problematic yet all of the nails and screws that will come out of the house is not.....

I guess hes thinking he could at least run a magnet over the grounds for nails, but that glass will never get cleaned up. I tend to agree, ill sweep it a few times with the big magnetic sweeper before I drive my truck up there

Couldn't you salvage some of those sheets of drywall? It's hard to tell on the video, but they looked to be in decent shape -- even if just to be used for sheds, garages, your workshops, etc.

When you were in the crawlspace I thought I saw a pair of green eyes looking at you in the dark corner. I think I know who was living there . hahahaha. Wish I could be there to help.

That foundation failure was epic, never seen one like that. Seen plenty of water in crawl space issues but never a stemwall that rolled over.

Should definitely save that fireplace if it's structurally sound.. Good centerpiece of some new construction. Or just an outdoor gathering area.

So long as the wiring homeruns weren't stapled to attic framing, the same skidsteer method would've been worthwhile.
@MakeEverything
@MakeEverything 2 жыл бұрын
I almost went in that direction, but we couldnt get the skid steer around the corner to the back of the house with the foundation falling in like that, when the excavator ripped the roof off most of the wire stayed stapled to the beams!

All that time and money, and they couldn't spend $500 to throw in some bar and grout the foundation? CMUs are only structural when they are reinforced with concrete and steel. If the structure was worth saving, this would have been a pretty easy one day fix too.
